 Crystal 50% - Slick 50%

Because for me... Slick has the best look 'n feel of folders by far and has many nice app icons that look so pretty (Ex: Koffice apps icons)...
And Crystal is SO nice, too.. but is SO clear, that it has a "na´f" look... Specially from hearts in Bookmarks and clear colors in actions... that the whole iconset get a "girly" look...
My combination is: Slick folders and most actions, Crystal mime-types... and 50/50 of both themes for apps icons...

Sorry if my english isn't clear i would like to be... I'm argentinian.

 Go iKons!

While I personally am using Crystal right now, I'm inclined to say iKons would be the best default theme for KDE 3.1. The reason is while I really like Crystal, I think iKons is more likely to appeal to a wider array of people (and look better on a larger variety of color schemes.

 mix 'n' match!

Icon themes are really overrated :) I prefer to start with the hicolor defaults (though iKons would be a good replacement by the time 3.1 is out), and then add various icons from other people's themes and of my own making...

Afterall, only certain sets of icons need to be themed imo, such as those you see with a konqueror file manager window open, those on kicker, those on the desktop :)

One theme I would like to see though is a GNOME icon them, bundled with KDE3.1 :) A lot of people have criticsed KDE's cartoony icons, and the more industrial feel of GNOME could make a great theme imo!

i dunno, iKons are a nice feel that aren't too cartoony and overdone. i like to just take icons from some of the crystal sets and adapt them. i'd love a set that has some of the icons at an angle the way iKons has the konsole and kcontrol icons. also, iKons needs more app icons, but overall, i think that it has the best system icons (devices and some of the basic system apps)

 A new icon set

Im very keen on the idea of a new icon set that is the combined work of a team. I created slick because while very well drawn, I just couldnt stand the style of hicolor. The slick theme has many icons because I reused much imagery over and over, copying and pasting layers to create icons out of icons, I got to the point where i was knocking out an icon every 20 seconds.
Because of this I believe slick has many failings as an icon set. I think it could have been something great with other peoples input, so it had more diversity and more styles.

iKons isnt close to a complete an icon set, it does a nice job replacing the folders, toolbars and devices, but its pretty much the same as hicolor otherwise.

Crystal is very nicely done. Well drawn, I love the reflective sheen effects theres some nice use of color. But i also think its a layer of gloss slapped over a mixture of default hicolor (mimetypes), and WindowsXP icons. (in the style of anyway).

So anyone who is willing to devote some talent into a new, theme for KDE please email me and we can discuss forming a team. I would like 3 or 4 people before going ahead to keep the individual work load down.

Cheers

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
