 problem

one big problem I notice is that you can only list a version of kde or qt that your software depends on. My application, Album Shaper, depends on libxml2 and libxslt. how about addition a feature so that these other dependencies can be listed with links to where people can get them.

Instead of having them waste time on a new feature, add the requirements to your app's description.

All pages are listed as "kde-apps.org" which becomes confusing when looking at the back-history :)

 Very nice

This looks very nice. I never used apps.kde.com unfortunately (it was badly designed) but I'll definetely be using this. This layout is neat, and slick.

However, I have got 2 small suggestions:

- I agree that the page title should reflect what page you're on. This would make things a lot easier.

- I suppose this is going to contradict myself now, but whilst the current layout is very nice, I think that eventually the KDE.ORG website style should be used.

Otherwise, a very nice site, much better than apps.kde.com .

 Better than appsy

I have only two suggestions:
- I'm missing a file-management category.

- Would it be possible to allow several categories for a program, because many programs fit more than one category.

 Some Improvements

by lucher on: Jan 12 2004

Hi!
I miss one important catergory: Kicker applets. Moreover, here some improvements that I suffer from (also for kdelook):

o contents menu is too long. are comboboxes better?

o if I click on a screenshot in the contents view I want to see that screenshot and not first the detailed page. Also I would like to see a way to display all screenshots on one page.

o forum (comments): completely unusable if you have apps/themes that are on the site for longer terms. Does a listet bug report still matter or is it obselete due to version update? What is really new? A first step would be to print the latest comments on the top of the page instead of the bottom or somewhere in the center. Also it could be usefull to blend out all comments that are older than 6 month. Take mosfets liquid for example - nobody will ever read all comments or find out where new comments are; there are simply too many (the "fresh" signutare is not enough and does not work in all cases).

Regards

One solution I would suggest for old comments is to have the version number of the app when the comment is made stored with the comment, and displayed beside the time it was posted. That way it is more obvious how "current" a comment is.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
