I used gFTP for much time, but currently I'm using FireFTP (Firefox extension) and /usr/bin/ftp for uploads.

1 Konqueror
- so far the most used by me. The main reason is that it behaives as it behaives. As file manager..

2 KFTPGrabber
- never used it

3 Kasablanca
- way way way too many crashes. No need to use it, only pisses me off

4 Scythia
- never used it

5 KBear
- god damn it. Is this thing still alive? I was transfering a folder from ftp to ftp once. And at 70% (imagine to transfer 10mb data with 56k dialup link) it crashed. No warning, no backtrace...crashed. Lameeee

6 gFTP
- great. After Konqu gFTP comes to game. But its Gtk interface makes it not userfriendly. So out of league

7 FtpCube
- never used it

- never used it

9 /usr/bin/ftp
- if I need to get small data, or single files I use put/get via shell's ftp command application, oldschool and efficient

10 ncftp
- never used it

11 Other
- I have used hrm...IglooFTP. Not sure under which license it comes (some lame for sure), it is half freeware (those that annoy you with register-and-pay shit after getting it to work) and the fact that it is not free software (not freeware), puts IglooFTP out of league and competition.

12 FTP? What's that?
- yeah, what is it?

13 FTP is dead!
- not yet, but soon to be!

14 I don't use FTP
- you can't bet on it..

Where is lftp by the way? I think ncftp comes close to it (or vice-versa).

That apart, I tried to use KBear and couldn't get hold of any thing.

KFTPGRABBER!!! It takes more screen to show nothing than presenting the directory list normally. It could have been the ultimate thing but it has managed to create hurdle in everything you want to do when connecting to an ftp site.

IglooFTP. I liked it. If only it was free... I think I will buy it some time... let me see...

if you really need the archiaic transfer, mount it as a userland filesystem and don't care about clients.

imho a missing option. and the most convenient one.

Did you forget intentionally the most powerful ftp client: lftp?

6 times 9 IS the answer of THE question

Nope... just haven't heard of that, but sounds great... so far I used ncftp.

I blog, therefore I am.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
