 Seriously...

Damn i have not been able to enjoy my linux box for some weeks now (cause of work i have to do under windows) (damn as i am typing my right hand is shaking :p) and i was just thinking that some apps i used to run would be really appreciated under windows...
Well let's say there isn't enough ports of kde applications. (I'm aware of the problems the massive ports could bring to the open comunity but... damn i really miss amarok and this fuc***g "notepad" of windows really won't replace my lovely kedit... haaaa. Well summer holydays are not too far from now ^^.
viva kde :)

Have a nice day.

 I voted for memory

I voted for memory, but my second choice would of been speed. I wouldn't say that the memory usage or speed was too bad, especially since on older systems (128 megs ram, 500 mhz) KDE runs pretty well, even with lots of the eye candy turned on, though it seems that some things just consume way more ram than they should, like looking into kpm I have 5 instances of KIO-HTTP still open from something, and each are consuming 12-13 megs of space. All in all 55% of my 512 megs of ram are being used (my swap space is pretty much only ever used for software suspend 2 lol).

I think that if the developers could lower the memory consumption and speed stuff up some it would be great! Though even if they keep adding new stuff while not raising the consumption too much it would be good as well. Luckily KDE does both :-D (faster and more features ever release, don't know about memory)

KDE is the greatest thing ever created.

For some reason i can't put my finger on it but i think its more of a organizational issue. Lokheed was on the right step. I think the community has to move in the general direction and development.

 Other ...

The clutter of the interface (too many options in a lot of applications) and the akward way to manage your toolbars. Oh and konqueror is a bit slow and counter intuitive (not an easy way to manage locations that you often visit, like in finder and other small issues) as a file manager. Oh and the control center should be cleaned up. It would be cool if 'advanced options' could be modified by a tool like gconf, and not shown in the control center. I know some developers don't like this approach :-)

Apart from that, KDE is the best desktop I could imagine :-)

Oh and I hate the bevels in many styles ... they make the interface seem more complex than it really is ... , but that's not really KDE ... :-)

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
