beta redesign

beta redesign

By Frank
Published: Oct 22 2008

I thought a lot about a way to redesign the websites to make it easier to understand and use. The plan is to make the website layout as light as possible so that the actual content is in the focus and more visible.

Another goal was to introduce a real navigation where you can see what kind of functionality the websites provides and you see where you are, at the moment.

The current design is not finished yet. This is in beta stage, at the moment. I would like to hear feedback from you.
What do you like? What don´t you like?

Please post you comments here.

Thank you for your help.

Cheers
Frank

-------update-------

I fixed a few small bugs and transformed a few more websites to the new design. What do you think?

Much better than the old one, easier on the eyes and feels much quicker.

The best improvement of the new design hasn't been mentioned yet: Finally it scales well for those of us that only have a small 800 pixel wide browser.

Many thanks for your service :)

And Galeon 2.0.4
And Konqueror 4.0.3
All same... :(

hi,

you browsercache has still the old stylesheet.
Do a Shift-Reload or clean your cache.

Only with squid?
Make a:
/etc/init.d/squid stop && rm -rf /var/spool/squid/* && /usr/sbin/squid -z && /etc/init.d/squid start

 Not nice

It's too bright. There should some accents. Neither logo isn't stand out.
Fonts are small and pale.
Everything is flat.

I think it could be more shiny and rounded like http://coolspotters.com/ , with bigger and contrasting fonts, some nice icons.
I think it could looks more like http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/KDE.org+Mockup?content=74530 but with different organisation of content and smaller icons.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
