KDE 4.0 Beta 1

KDE 4.0 Beta 1

By Yaba
Published: Aug 2 2007

KDE 4.0 Beta 1 has been released.

With this release there will be a feature freeze in the APIs. Developers will concentrate in eliminating bugs, while application developers still can add features until the next Beta release. Binary packages for Kubuntu, openSUSE and Mandriva are already available.

Probably not. It should run on far less than what Vista needs.

KDE4 is going to be faster than KDE3.x

Vista is VERY power hungry and KDE4 would need to become such to need same PC as Vista.

No, unless you have somekind Celeron 500Mhz and 128mb memory. I run KDE very fine with P3 500Mhz 256Mb

KDE it just must be...

It would be interesting makeing a benchmark with kde 3.5.7 against kde 4 beta 1.. maybe now kde 3.5.7 will win, but when kde 4 will be finally relesead would be nice a benchmarking ( memory used, processor used, startup time...)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
