i just finished installing this(it takes a long time, but it only requires a single command if you use konstruct). anyway, it was worth every second. its awesome. the kicker looks great and its soooo much faster. i dont know why it would be, but it is. i dont think its cause i compiled from source cause yoper sources are already optimized for my processor. but who cares, just friggen get it. and i hastn crashed yet(only been using it for like 5 minutes though...)

I hope it won't EVER get in.
If you really love to copy other (propietaries) OSes ideas like this, use KXDocker. It's already aavailable and well supported

well, I don't have a problem with copying per-se - better well copied than badly invented (translated saying...). it might add unneeded bloat, and that's bad.

but if ppl want it, and if it enhances the usability, a well-crafted zoom function wouldn't harm the kicker.

As by now, zoom has gone in kicker, there is the new "giant tooltip" if you want to call it this way.

And, anyway, there's KXDocker. If some vendor/distributor wants, they could easily put it by default in a KDE desktop.

i dont think osx zooming would work on a stationary panel anyway. "smoother" zooming would have been nice though, but is still like this version better anyway.

 Nice Improvements

There are definitely some major improvements. All the crashing when changing styles is finally fixed. Menus are faster in this release too. Even though it's still in beta, it's still a great idea to get this release. If nothing else, at least to bug report the heck out of it so it gets perfect. :)

 Zoomin

OK, I didn't installed it yet, so I couldn't really feel it, but I really dislike the new icom zooming. As far as I can tell from the screenshots I saw. So I really hope the developers will add the 'old' (elegant) zooming back as at least an option.

the old zooming was horrible. the images would look so pixelated...

This new zooming aint that hot either...if you can call it zooming anymore.

If the zooming supported SVG, wouldnt that completely illiminate the jaggies?

Yeah? Well...you're hogging up all the ugly!

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
