What can we do to fight internet related crime?

For anyone who has ever been hacked or recived spam or letters in there e-mail claiming to offer you money etc in the us there is someone you can complain to. http://www.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp
I personly filed a complaint for them spending the us tax dollars on ms and asp grrr.
If you live in the usa and you recive any type of scam e-mail etc or you have been hacked lets make the us government work for all that tax money we give them. :)
File a complaint.
If i am able to i will try to build some type of app that will allow our US Gnu/Linux users to use the services that our FBI has provided us with
In order to fight internet crime.

Thanks for you ear.

 quite a lofty pursui

Score 50%

Hello,

I've reported a zillion emails to the FTC address assigned for that reason. I have reported credit card frauding for companies I work for to the FBI. And I've dealt with a lot of cases of identity theft.

Nobody bothers.

Figure this out: if the geeks on slashdot can track a (ROKSO) spammer down and send him -- to his home address -- each and every mail catalog possible in a few hours time, why can't the police solve this problem in all those years?

Noone cares. Especially in the US, where the constant lobbywork of several big companies stop the drafting of any effective framework to deal with spammers and other scum. And most of the world's spam still originates from there (and not Russia or China), as do all fake/stolen credit card scams I have been tracking down (you might to get the global scope right yourself instead of thinking people from the US are the only victims of such scum).

On top of that, it's a quite internationally known flaw of the average politician not to understand even a bit (pun intended) about technologically matters such as the internet. And don't get me started on police or ISP abuse helpdesks (ever contacted Ebay about abuse? Or even a bank, you know, those professional people who take care of all your money?).

I'm not saying GNU/Linux wouldn't be helped with an application which makes it easier to report all kinds of abuse to the right addresses; just don't expect too much. Unless you are a billion dollar company, you ain't worth too many man-hours of work.

PS: Which fool made the subject field so short? M I 2 SMS my MSG in l33t spk?

"All text must be in English", said the nazi.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
