 Another Suggestion: Two Rows

 by BurkeOne on: Mar 18 2009

Score 50%

Hey,

One thing that occured to me just right now is that it would be cool to have to rows for tasks. I personally have a big panel where two rows would fit. Maybe others would like that too. This is how I think it would look cool:

____________
|_||_||_|
|^||^||^|

With no full rectangle( |_|, instead of a square or full rectangle) it would be even cooler.

But I also agree: Including Quicklaunch would make it even more perfect. Maybe even integrating the Systray is possible which would make it a fully capable dock.

For those who do not need those features there probably could be a stasks-bare version,next to a stasks-quicklaunch and a stasks-full.

Rock on.

I've upgraded qt libs and compiling stasks I get this error:

In file included from /root/Desktop/varie/stasks-0.4/applet/stasks_frame.cpp:126:
/root/Desktop/varie/stasks-0.4/build/applet/stasks_frame.moc:14:2: error: #error "This file was generated using the moc from 4.4.3. It"
/root/Desktop/varie/stasks-0.4/build/applet/stasks_frame.moc:15:2: error: #error "cannot be used with the include files from this version of Qt."

I don't know why you have that error.
Maybe try make clean?

I am working with QT 4.5 and everything is fine.

This one totally rocks. Thanks for the diamond :D

 0.5 version

 by NForce on: Mar 21 2009

Nice...But damn, grouping is almost dead :( It worked only with VLC. I've tried skype (2 chats, main window, settings window) and i've got 4 independent tasks. Tried Firefox (Two main windows, settings, downloads, addons) - got 5 tasks...Tried with dolphin also - opened it once, then another copy - two independent tasks. By the way, original kde4.2 task bar suffers from same glitches, is it possible to get this stuff working?

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
