 New release?

Hi, I'm sure you are busy so I hope I'm not a pest. Are you planning on releasing a new version fairly soon? Just curious, since you had indicated a new release was imminent a couple months ago.

Thanks for this great plasma widget!

 Unix Movemail Server

Love the plasmoid! It's now an essential part of my desktop.

Feature request: I use the so-called Unix Movemail server to access email accounts on localhost, with Thunderbird as the MUA. Very quick - no set-up.

At present the plasmoid only gives me the option of checking mail on POP3 or IMAP servers.

Being able to directly check my /var/mail/<whoever> directory would be real advantage.

Many thanks

Graeme

Hi,

it's only about checking changes a counting messages in /var/mail/<whoever>, right?

Ok. I'm planning to add IMAP IDLE feature to next release. I will add this feature too.

Yes, it just needs to count unread messages in the Unix mail directory.

Many thanks

Graeme

Only unread messages? In my opinion all of messages here is unread.

Thunderbird/Mutt/... after receiving mails move messagages from /var/spool/.... to home directory.

Right?

I'm no expert but I'm fairly sure that's not the normal behavior.

On my openSUSE 11.2 set-up, mail in the /var/mail/<whatever> directory (a soft-link to /var/spool/mail/<whatever>) contains both unread and read mail, the same as the inbox on an IMAP or POP server. Mail remains in that directory until I manually archive it or delete it. The archive would normally be in home directory.

Certainly Thunderbird doesn't move mail once its been read. And I don't want it to because that mail item would then be captive to Thunderbird and difficult/impossible to access from another MUA. But that's another issue.

So a count of total messages won't really produce the same result (for me at least) as is available with the plasmoid for POP3 and IMAP servers. :-(

Thanks again

Graeme

Hmm, i did understand this behaviour like normal ;-).

I see /var/spool/... like "stack" of messages and client download messages to himself. Similar like POP works.

I tested this with Thunderbird and he move all messages from /var/spool/... to home/.thnuderbird/... directory immediately after checking/receiving messages.

A tested this with Mutt too and if a readed a few messages then before quit he gives me question "Move readed messages to Home?".

I'm no expert too ;-). I will find more about this. But POP-like behaviour seems be logical for me ;-).

PS: Next post please send to my mail. This discussion is little off-topic on this page, but i want find result ;-). Thanks...

Hy! I have a problem with this plasmoid.
It started about one or two days ago. When the plasmoid check my gmail account, the certificate accept dialog pop ups again, and again. Not at all, but in the most cases. I click on yes, but sooner or later, it happening again. I uninstalled the plasmoid, and rebuilt it from source, but no effect, the problem is the same. What would I do?

Hi, I know about this problem. In fact it's not problem in the plasmoid, but on google mail servers.

Google server send randomly two different certificates. I don't know why. Same problem has appeared last year too (i think in april too). After a few days server send only one certificate again.

I save only one certificate. The solution will to save all of certificates, but from my point of view it's not clean resolution.

Thanks. So, I just can wait until google solve this problem?...Hm..It sounds like that SMTP problem some time ago. If my memories are correct, that case about the certificates, too, but then the exp. date was incorrect.

So, I will wait then, and I will tell this story to my other friends (who uses your godd program. Anyway, nice work, keep it up!!! ;) ), and thanks again the fast reply.
See you.

I've added an option to auto-accept SSL certificates...I know It's NOT a SECURE option, but those dilogs are very annoying. So, waiting for a better solution:

This version also include Knotify support, if you want I'll do a version without it.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
