Could you elaborate? Two red arrows and a screenshot really doesn't mean much...

Bottom of PopupApplet is sharpen.

I think it should be over panel (with rounded corners) or more polished. At the moment we see "dark line".

Unfortunately, the popup applet is hard-coded not to show one of the edges, so I'm powerless to do anything for that :(

hi!
The theme looks good, but the clock is hard to read, it would be nice to see for example some smaller points for every hour.
thx!

I've always thought of the analogue desktop clock as a fashion detail, and haven't considered that someone would actually use it :) (look at the Glaze theme for proof :) )

I agree with you, I'll see what will be best way to do this. Cheerio!

hi, i to consider it a fashion detail or i could say "something that makes my desktop look cooler", but if it's there, why not use it :) (i even removed the digtal one from the taskbar)
Yes, the one from Glaze looks good and it's easy to read.
Thx! for the reply and keep up the good work.
Have a nice day!

 Panel

I really want to see Win7 like panel. Not exactly the same look ofc, but with a nice glass effect. Widgets background should look the same. I really love glassy themes, but the available on kde-look don't look so cool i want them to.

Sorry for my bad eng.

I don't want to sound rude or anything, but... no

If you want it, just make it, creating plasma themes is a breeze.

I wouldn't say that it looks at all like win7's one - the only similarity I see is the top border. You don't have the vertical stripes, and you have a horizontal gradient. :)

For me, the Win7 panel (as seen on the screenshots, haven't tested it) is pug ugly...

This looks awesome, especially with your wallpaper (with one exception - the /normal/ background - I would remove the background from normal items).

I'm not sure whether it is possible* though, and what it would look like on vertical panels.

* Qt's SVG rendering is not comparable to Inkscape's, so (last time I checked) blur didn't work - so it would have to be faked which is a bit difficult.

Waiting for the next generation Plasma theme :D Hope to see it soon. Thx that you like my idea.

KWin's blur effect should work with plasma's transparent panels, widgets, etc. I already reported a wish on bugs.kde.org.

I wasn't talking about blurring the background (although that is another issue) but blurring needed for the task button effect.

Hi, great theme but unfortunately it doesn't work for me. I'm using KDE 4.2 on Kubuntu. Composition is on. See the screenshot for the problem.

Download this: ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/4.2.0/src/kdeartwork-4.2.0.tar.bz2

Copy "desktoptheme/slimglow" to "/home/Username/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme", then you have a working V2.0 of SlimGlow.

Hi, I haven't exactly forgotten to update the theme here, I have intentionally omitted posting the version from 4.2 since it is being shipped with all distros that ship KDE.

As for the kubuntu, I have no idea in which package it is (kdeartwork or something) but it is certainly being shipped.

As I've mentioned above, KDE-look will be used for the development version of slim-glow. And *that* I did forgot to upload :) (I want to revamp the taskbar a bit before I upload it)

Cheers!

Sorry for the late reply. Slim-glow does indeed ship with Kubuntu, it's just that I accidentally deleted it and couldn't get it back.

 prettier non composite panels

by redm on: Apr 2 2009

Score 50%

I really love you Slim Glow theme! The only thing not so pretty is the style of the panel when compositing is disabled. It seems to fall back to that blueish brick from the default plasma theme Oxygen, which kinda contradicts with the lightness of the rest of the theme. How about having something lighter here as well? E.g. the translucent panel just blended with a black backround?

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
