 Great job

by Dareus on: Jan 30 2008

Score 50%

I think that your work is great, not for his look but for the potentiality you've shown. If you're a plasma dev, please add a plasma theme manager for via systemsettings or something like that. If you're not contact one, please.
Really your job opens and shows the potential of plasma and it could be a waste not to offer this to everyone. maybe it could be in kde 4.0.2
I really hope that.

I don't know the version in which the theme chooser will be added... but it will be eventually.

 battery mon trouble

by cbr on: Feb 13 2008

The battery usage percentages that are shown at the battery monitor plasmoid are almost not visible. It ends up being black text on very dark grey background. Maybe that could be fixed up somehow? It's exceptionally bad when you do mouse hover on the widget, then the background gets tinted even more. The text could be white in my opinion? That would make things very clear.

Well, I can not reproduce this. Maybe the version I have is the SVN version of Plasma which had a few changes in the color scheme department.

Here I have white text displaying the battery status.

 Panel resize

by Fintan on: Mar 5 2008

I love this theme. Sweet:))

One thing though:
In Kubuntu GG when I activate the composite effects the panel shrinks horizontally on both ends, but the widgets stay put so they "stick" out of the sides.

Any ideas?

Thats a rounding bug in qt4.3, when resizing SVGs. It's fixed in qt-4.4.0-beta1.

Could you please help us with a workaround: if you'd just provide us with a panel-background.svg that is not pure svg, but has its gradients embedded as pngs, all the 4.0.x-users would not suffer from the qt-bug :)

see: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158824

I'd really appreciate that, but thanks for the great theme anyways!

Regards.

The problem is that I have no means to test the panel since I only have the SVN version of KDE installed.

If you would like to do it, I would gladly place it in the download section here.

 Kubuntu-Packages

by onlinelli on: May 19 2008

Hi, for everyone who is insterested in an easy installation of this theme (and also of Aya, heron, Silicon and Elegance)

you can easly install it from my repository:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/cornelius-maihoefer/ubuntu hardy main

and install the plasma-themes-extra package.

then just change the following file ~/.kde4/share/config/plasmarc. Replace the word "default" with the desired theme-name (slim-glow, in this case).

Cheers.

Too late :( I haven't seen this comment until it was too late.

If you don't like the transparent version, just remove the widgets/translucentbackground.svg
file

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
