Description:

After long time i have take the decision to work another time on the DarkGlass.
Because i hate to have bright windows

 Quality!

by maniaco on: Oct 18 2007

Score 50%

The quality level is veeery good!
The only thing i want to tell you is to try to use more color(s)... i know the glass must be... transparent, of course, but icons are meant to be used more at 32x32 than 256x256 (that's just a dimensional example).
So in "normal use" the risk is to have a lot of very-similar dark icons, and this may be a negative point for your set usability.

Anyway...very good work!!! :)

it's ok, i think on put the object
that are now inside folder, to stay in front
of folder.
And control low pixel effect.

This looks awesome!
This will be even better than oxygen!
I really love the glassy black folders.
I don't know how will it work in smaller sizes...buy I use big icons anyway.

 only two problems

The home icon and the device icons don't look as good. Home icon would be better if only the roof was transparent and the device icons need some work.
But anyways, cool icons!

good to see you have heeded my comments =) the icons are somewhat better now.
me, I suck at 3d, but could you post the 3d source files so I can play with them? thanks :)
about the "fresnel effect" (you talking about the reflected cloudy texture right), I'd say it looks a bit superfluous and amateurish... do you think it would be possible to use clear glass everywhere, like in the front face of the gear icon? maybe you should use some other lightning environment to get a cooler reflection... like, maybe, inside a room with a window (see vista's screen icon).

basically what I'm hoping to see is the Crystal Project icons, except translucent and 3d.

and they are still too blue :p

good work, keep it up.

So...first: the fresnel effect
is not a refess, but is an angle
of the water, glass etc where you
see transparent or glossy.

the cloudy effect now hehe is not cloudy
for now, is a screenShot of AgeOfConan ^_^
whiht water and a boat.
If i find a good interna image for
my image i can try to use.

Linux is like wigwam... No windows, no gates... Just Apache inside.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
