 Good!!

by thormedia on: Jun 5 2003

Score 50%

Looks and works great...

My coments are this...

Is it possible to have a custom string so we can set the text that appears above the icons?

Also, an x/y offset to control distance that text is away from icons, as I see the text overlapping icons sometimes and it spoils the effect a little...

These are just minor niggles hehe

anyway.. spot on! Love it

If the running task is an added task I think it can't append, if its a static icon it may be a command different from the application, for example:
kfmclient openProfile filemanagement
run konqueror than konqueror is not kfmclient, if you like i can write a patch to solve.

It would be great if you could fix this up. The rest of the theme is so good, that I can live with this one annoyance, however, it would be so much better if this was fixed. I have considered writing a patch myself, however, as you know your code better than anyone, I'm sure your patch would be best. Another patch I've been considering is adding a context menu when the button is middle clicked to close/maximise/minimise etc windows. A project for the coming weeks, maybe.

Matt

 mouse click

by stefano on: Jun 17 2003

Score 50%

On 0.7 release when you click a icon it will search the title of the icon and the application name, like the engine for the black arrow, if a black arrow is showed it will raize the same window. If there are many windows with the same name or program like konqueror, file manager or web browsing, It will raise the last window.
I think only one solution may be applied: showing the list of windows when the mouse is over the icon, than select the window to raise.
I'm updating the todo check on theme informations.

 working with modules

by stefano on: Jun 17 2003

Score 50%

I'm writing code to load external extension like pop3 check...
I'm writing code to add more threads...

If you like to write some code, I like if you wait the 0.9 release where i end to write loading modules, than you can write your code as externals

 Min Max Close

I think it's a good idea, I think to add under the icons tree buttons, I hope to find the right layer,
The original OsX how does it do?

I look forward to release 0.9 with the possibility of external modules. One other thing I was thinking of (to emulate osx), is that when a new icon is added to the bar (after a window opens), that the new icon bounces. I presume it wouldn't be too difficult to apply the code that bounces the icon on click to an icon when it's added to the bar.

Just a suggestion - take it or leave it.

Otherwise, this is a fantastic theme. I have sort of ignored the task bar themes, as some of them seemed quite kludgy, however, your theme is fast, and useful and is getting better with each release. Keep up the good work!

On MacOSX, the icon bounces two or three times on startup of an application. I presume a loop would do it.

 always centered?

by luci on: Jun 13 2003

hi,
this one is imho the best of existing OS-X docker karamba implementations.
very fast and configurable!
i have just one question: any idea how to keep the bar always centered when new tasks were automatically added?

what a great bar...i love it!

ive been checking out the get_power as it would be really nice to have the battery status on the bar and i see that you've been implementing acpi so far.

it would be awesome if you could have an option to use apm as well...the syntax is really easy, i could send u some info u dont have access to an apm machine.

keep up the good work!

 apm stuff

by binaryjono on: Jun 18 2003

Score 50%

heres some info on apm on my laptop:

--plugged in--
[root@localhost root]# cat /proc/apm
1.16 1.2 0x03 0x01 0x03 0x09 100% 131 min
[root@localhost root]# apm
AC on-line, battery charging: 100% (2:11)

--not plugged in--
[root@localhost root]# cat /proc/apm
1.16 1.2 0x03 0x00 0x00 0x01 98% 128 min
[root@localhost root]# apm
AC off-line, battery status high: 98% (2:08)

using the apm command would probably be easier to deal with the data...hope this helps!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
