Description:

X11 mouse theme with the crystal look&feel, there are four versions in the package.

Changelog:

CrystalCursors 1.1.1:
-this release only fixes some hot spot-related bugs into the left-handed version.
Many thanks to Markus Bauer and Bastian Venthur for the report and patch.

CrystalCursors 1.1:
this release fixes only the build system, changes includes:
-in left handed themes the symmetric cursors aren't flipped anymore
-now it's finally possible to install the cursors system-wide:
all you have to do is to edit the Makefile and change the first line
export PREFIX=$(HOME)/.icons/ with a properdirectory, usually
export PREFIX=/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons is a good choice,
that should also make simpler to build rpms and other packages

CrystalCursors 1.0:
-corrected the green version of copy cursor
-now the colorize.sh script produces a veery better result
(and is fairly slower, btw :-))

CrystalCursors 0.9:
-corrected a little asymmetry in the left pointers
-all themes have an almost autogenerated left-handed (i.e. flipped) version

CrystalCursors 0.8:
-modified the shiny effect of the hands
-all borders of the 32x32 versionnow are more sharp
-remade all the shadows of the white version
CrystalCursors 0.7:
-a 32x32 version of wach cursor theme(useful for very big screen
resolutions) to enable it set the environment variable XCURSOR_SIZE=32
-watch busy cursor updated with the one in the current crystal icons
-green theme reworked
-lighter shadows
-reworked all the svg images
-little modification in colorize.sh(thanks to Tika)

 Red theme?

by theobroma on: Oct 14 2004

Could you make a red theme? I love red cursors because I never "lose" them on my screen.

This is the best looking cursor theme I have ever seen!!!

I thought there was some script that could automatically colorize these cursors? I wouldn't know, I LOVE the blue ones ;)

this is colorize.sh in the root dir of the theme, but the results aren't that good...
btw for now i don't have enough time to augment even more the complexity, since the build system is a little hell :-)

If you would be willing to send me your source (.xcf .svg) images I could help colorize them.

 left handed version

by dogleg on: Nov 21 2004

Score 50%

There are a couple of problems with the left handed version:

The 4 cursors 'bottom_left_corner', top_right_corner etc should not be flipped.

The transition between the left_ptr_watch cursor and the other cursors is jerky ( the pointer jumps about 1 pointer width to the left), also the hotspot for this cursor is still in the top left.

 Re: left handed vers

These problems can be fixed by:

1. Changing left-handed_templates/floptheme.sh

14c14
< for i in `find . -name '*.png' -not -regex .*corner.*`; do
---
> for i in `find . -name '*.png'`; do
19c19
< for i in `find . -name '*.conf' -not -regex .*corner.*`; do
---
> for i in `find . -name '*.conf'`; do

This prevents the corner cusors being flipped.

2. Changing left-handed_templates/left_ptr_watch.conf
so that the lines beginning '29 0' begin with '29 29', and lines beginning '32 0' begin with '32 32'.
This puts the hotspots in the correct place.

3. Within the 4 src directories there is a directory 'noanim'. Replace any links to image files with the files themselves. This prevents the originals being flipped too many times.

1.make an application to config then(or configuration by control center)
2.make a rpm for them
I am amazed...

 Should be part of3.4

This is the most remarkable GUI tweak for KDE. It should be part of KDE 3.4 when it comes out next year.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
