Description:

Karamba, an eye-candy for KDE !
See http://www.efd.lth.se/~d98hk/karamba/ for details.

--
Both RedHat9 & Mandrake9.1 rpm packages are available for download at

http://dor22288.kaist.ac.kr/Karamba/

For anyone who want to taste the eye-candy in RH9 or MDK9.1... :)

--
Run '$ karamba.sh the_theme_files_to_load'
or, just click 'Karamba' at KMenu-> Accessories (in RedHat),
KMenu->Applications->Monitoring (in Mandrake)

$ karamba1024.sh (or karamba1152.sh)
This will load 10 pre-selected themes at the same time.
(You can select these themes by commenting or uncommenting lines
in /usr/share/apps/karamba/themes/1024x768.theme
or 1152x864.theme )

--
Note: The download button is linked to RH9 rpm. If you want to download MDK9.1 rpm, visit the Homepage: Link.

ps) Many kde-lookers have wanted to get the background of screenshot3.
So, here comes the background ! :)

Is there a chance you could email the background you have in the third screenshot?

 Slashdot

This is amazing and even better since it's an RPM all the newbies (like me) can enjoy it easily. But when I load slashdot it's blank? Also how can I make all the things load automatically at the start. Keep in mind i don't know how to make stuff autoload.

Thank you

Also the XMMS doesn't seem to be working, it doesn't display the name and the buttons don't work. It could be me though :-) haha

Fetching rdf from slashdot sometimes fails because of network traffic.
It's not of the karamba theme problem. :)

And...a tip for automatical loading karamba in startup:
make a karamba.sh script in $HOME/.kde/Autostart
It goes someting like this...
--%^ cut here ^%--
#!/bin/bash
if [ ! -d ~/.kde/share/apps/karamba/ ]; then
mkdir -p $HOME/.kde/share/apps/karamba/scripts
mkdir -p $HOME/.kde/share/apps/karamba/themes
fi
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/share/apps/karamba/scripts/:$HOME/.kde/share/apps/karamba/scripts
exec /usr/bin/karamba \
/usr/share/apps/karamba/themes/calendar.theme \
/usr/share/apps/karamba/themes/whatever_themes
--%^cut here ^%--

Good luck!

Slashdot is still not woriking. If I follow the path that's in the config it displays the headlines in my browser... Could it be because I use konquoer and not mozilla?

click right mouse button on the slashdot theme and choose 'Update'.
Sometimes slashdot theme starts with blank screen, but clicking 'Update' resolves this problem.

ps) added missing pics in some themes, and modified themes to fit in 1152x864 or lower.
download again & reinstall with 'rpm -Uvh karamba-*.rpm --force'
if you like. :)

Very versatile. Was wondering:

1. Is it possible to use single-click to activate applications, etc.

2. Mouse-over animation? Would it be possible to create a OSX style panel with parabolic icon zooming?

great eye-candy :)

I think you have to create it with karamba, see the karamba home page (how to).

And for the wallpaper of the screenshot 3, someone know where I can find it?

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
