Description:

My Lizard Bootsplash for SuSE 10.2

The splash screen is designed for resolutions 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1400x1050, 1600x1200 and 1920x1200 widescreen.

Unpack the archive in /etc/bootsplash/themes/ and change the THEME=xxxx line in /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash to THEME="Lizard".

Run "SuSEconfig" followed by "mkinitrd" to store the splash in your ramdisk for the resolutions defined in your grub bootloader and reboot.

Enjoy this beauty.

Greetz,
Luc

 "message" file

Hello!

Under openSuSE 10.2, I get the following error message from GRUB:

/boot/message: invalid file format

and because of this only text screen is available for OS selection. After that everything goes well.

(I copied this file from Lizard/bootsplash directory there. Do I have to change something in the file to work?)

You cannot use the message file from the theme. You need to stick with the one from suse, try to get the old message file back.

Hello guys

I have a little problem. I did the following:

* Downloaded the Theme
* Opened the Konsole
* Tipped in the order: "kdesu konqueror"
* Extrakted the Theme in "/etc/bootsplash/themes/" (using ark)
* Opened the /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash with kate
* Changed ~THEME:"SuSE"~ to ~THEME:"Lizard" and saved it
* Closed kate, Konqueror and ark
* Tipped in the Konsole: "su" and then "mkinitrd"
* Rebooted the system

But while rebooting there looked nothing orther then before ... Had I sth did wrong?

Grüße Jojo

After you changed the theme in /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash you need to run SuSEconfig as root
Then proceed with the rest.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
