 resolution probs

Hi,

first of all, I found your splash very good, and wanted to install it, but after editing grub.conf I noticed that you only made one resolution possibel.
Could you add a 1280x1024 splash too?

thx

Hi,

I can give you only the pictures in the resolution what you want, but I can not make splash config for this resolution, because my HW doesn't support it. If you make this splash config file, then I can add it into this package.

Cheers,
Jiri

You can use splash_resize to create new config files suitable for your new screen size.

You may need to emerge splashutils but be aware that the latest version has replaced /etc/init.d/splash script with fbcondecor

Also you can use the convert command from IMageMagick to resize images e.g.
convert -size 1280x1024 bootsplash-1280x1024.jpg -resize 1024x768 bootsplash-1024x768.jpg

You can also use splash_manager to test your themes without having to reboot e.g.
splash_manager -t fingerprint -m s -c demo

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
