Description:

This is a set of widget styles for Qt4/KDE4, KDE3 and Gtk2 based apps.

0.49 is the first version to have a Qt4/KDE4 port. This version may be compiled with just Qt4 - in which case the KDE4 control panel config dialog will not be built. See the INSTALL file for more details.

The fonts and colours for the GTK themes will be read in from your Qt settings - so any KDE font/colour changes will also affect your GTK apps.

**NOTE:** The Gtk3 release has been removed, as the Gtk theme API has changed!

NOTE: kde-look.org had a server crash, and the original QtCurve entry was deleted.

Changelog:

KDE4
====

1.8.14
------
1. Fix loading of kwin decoration/config under KDE4.9

KDE3
====

1.8.5
-----
1. Allow scrollbar sliders to be as thin as 5 pixels. At this setting, sliders will be squared.

Gtk2
====

1.8.16
------
1. fix memleak with newer versions of cairo.

 Forced scrollbar buttons in firefox (cairo?)

 by cepheus11 on: Mar 24 2013

Score 50%

Hello, if I configure QtCurve to not show any scrollbar buttons (show only the slider), firefox, thunderbird and libreoffice show them anyway. Other Gtk apps like geeqie do not, that's why i suspect cairo. Is there a possibility to get scrollbars without buttons in Firefox?

 Rounded tooltip borders?

 by nick87720z on: May 3 2013

Score 50%

Last time searching for solution of ugly borders with rounded tooltips, i noticed, that switching its style to something other than flat makes it candy, but without border. It would be nice to draw it like for popup menu (which seems to be border of all widgets).

 Transparent gradients in tooltips

I posted it in this subtheme, because sure, it may relate to some common problem.

When i worked on plain glowing theme for dark color schemes, which uses Simple shading mode and controls, whose custom gradients consist of pure white color with transparency ≈10—30%. For buttons such gradients look as expected, but for tooltips it is just a white. Though it is not good, and 150% brightness with 40% alpha should be good as well (due to inability of first solution to follow color scheme), it just showes, that tooltip are drawn on some own, old way, responsible for both problems.

Looks like problem of untransparent window background is applied for all windows. When i tried to set such gradient to window background, its header looked transparent, but window body did not.

I haven't completely understand the code / logic for this part yet but I think these are valid feature requests (although I admit I haven't read / test them carefully yet).
As other comment I made today, could you please create an issue(s) for these? I would like to add these once I'm ready for new configure options and it would be a lot easier for me to find them again if they are managed on github.

THX.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
