Description:

This is a set of widget styles for Qt4/KDE4, KDE3 and Gtk2 based apps.

0.49 is the first version to have a Qt4/KDE4 port. This version may be compiled with just Qt4 - in which case the KDE4 control panel config dialog will not be built. See the INSTALL file for more details.

The fonts and colours for the GTK themes will be read in from your Qt settings - so any KDE font/colour changes will also affect your GTK apps.

**NOTE:** The Gtk3 release has been removed, as the Gtk theme API has changed!

NOTE: kde-look.org had a server crash, and the original QtCurve entry was deleted.

Changelog:

KDE4
====

1.8.14
------
1. Fix loading of kwin decoration/config under KDE4.9

KDE3
====

1.8.5
-----
1. Allow scrollbar sliders to be as thin as 5 pixels. At this setting, sliders will be squared.

Gtk2
====

1.8.16
------
1. fix memleak with newer versions of cairo.

 How to set window background color

I am changing my Kubuntu 12.04 theme and want to set it like the old Kde3 look (like Kubuntu 7.10) which I love very much. I want to set window background color to solid color. How to set it?

 QtCurve-GTK3?

Is there any plan to make a GTK3 port? GTK2 alone is not enough. And thank you for your excellent work, I use QtCurve for years!

+1 to this question. I'm waiting gtk3-port very much.
And now, unfortunately, I have to use crappy oxygen, since it has support for all of that toolkits (Qt4, KDE4, Gtk2, Gtk3).

Btw, stupid question: is it any plans to make substitution lib for tk, and, maybe even efl? ;))

Craig has already stated that he's not interested in doing a GTK3 port (since he no longer uses QtCurve himself). Perhaps if he were to set a bounty on the GTK3 port, then those of us interested could chip in to a little "motivational" fund. Whaddya say, Craig?

Honestly, I think a GTK3 port would be truly wonderful, because having Oxygen as the only truly cross-platform theme is a bit limiting. QtCurve, on the other hand, is so customizable, that it helps to make up for the lack of other available KDE themes.

You can use qtcurve and install gtk unico engine and get some gtk themes from gnome look and set up with lxappearance gtk3 apps use gtk theme,so you don't need to use ugly oxygen style ever anymore.Just remember with lxapperance set manualy from gtkrc2 file theme to qtcurve because it changes both gtk2 and gtk3 theme to use same theme.

Why not merge Qtcurve and Unico into only one engine for Qt/KDE and GTK2/GTK3? Is possible to generate Unico CSS classes from a QtCurve theme file?

Anewstart it's having gtk2 gtk3 and qtcurve theme
gtk version is made alecive and qtcurve made lgsalvati

http://alecive.deviantart.com/art/A-New-Start-1-3-169100684

You need to have murrine and unico engine to use that gtk theme and qtcurve
and you need to install that new kde-gtk-engine if your distro have it in repos or lxappearance and set gtk themes to use anewstart and qtcurve to kde and qt apps using qtconfig.

Nice, but not practical. We need a way the user can change GTK2, GTK3, Qt4 and KDE theme in one place. It's possible to implement that engine or modify Qtcuve to do that?

What you're reporting is ABI incompatibility,
But it looks like you cannot even build qtcurve with the new KDE. We need to wait for the new version of qtcurve (or some patches) for it to work at all with KDE >= 4.8.80. (And it will need to be rebuilt for the new KDE anyway).

Here is a patch to have qtcurve build with the new KDE: http://codepad.org/qx6qdGNa
I just made necessary changes to have it compile, it still needs to be properly modified by the author. This is just a temporary fix to have something working.

Great! With this I can compile kwin support again! (already compiled without). I'm using Gentoo, so hopefully Dilfridge's team will add it to kde layout.

How can I disable shadow under tooltip and menu when KWin compositing is enabled? I don't see any option witch is responsible for this.

Feel free to add an issue on github.
I think this can be added although I'm not yet ready to add new configure options. It will be helpful to track all these requests if they are on github.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
