Description:

This is a set of widget styles for Qt4/KDE4, KDE3 and Gtk2 based apps.

0.49 is the first version to have a Qt4/KDE4 port. This version may be compiled with just Qt4 - in which case the KDE4 control panel config dialog will not be built. See the INSTALL file for more details.

The fonts and colours for the GTK themes will be read in from your Qt settings - so any KDE font/colour changes will also affect your GTK apps.

**NOTE:** The Gtk3 release has been removed, as the Gtk theme API has changed!

NOTE: kde-look.org had a server crash, and the original QtCurve entry was deleted.

Changelog:

KDE4
====

1.8.14
------
1. Fix loading of kwin decoration/config under KDE4.9

KDE3
====

1.8.5
-----
1. Allow scrollbar sliders to be as thin as 5 pixels. At this setting, sliders will be squared.

Gtk2
====

1.8.16
------
1. fix memleak with newer versions of cairo.

For Kubuntu users:
Add the samrog131 ppa, and install from there. No compiling errors. :)

Please read the QtCurve description above.

But, oxygen has its own Gtk2 theme - and this will be a better match than using KDE oxygen and Gtk2 qtcurve.

I got rid of KDE libraries and GTK apps has switched to standard (I believe) greyish theme. But they are still styled with QtCurve just like I had configured it. Qt apps are both coloured and styled properly.

Is colour mimicking supported without KDE?

qtcurve-qt4 1.8.4, gtk-engines-qtcurve 1.8.5

Thanks for best Free Desktop Thing ever, by the way.

The xulrunner bug preventing multiple arrows at either end of a scrollbar has been fixed upstream: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=624425

 window button icons

hi,

I believe qtcurve would benefit greatly from a restyling of window button icons. Those you have now are starting to look a bit too old fashioned.

 opacity tint

Hi,

With the last update, the blur situation appear to have improved quite a bit.(?) So I experimented a bit with this feature again. Another thing that springs to mind is that if I enable opacity, my windows change color quite drastically. I use a color scheme with almost white window backgrounds, so I expect to have white, translucent windows. Instead I get some sort of grey :(

I did some testing, and it appears that the grey tint to some degree works with grey or darker color scheemes, but light or brightly colored ones suffer badly. Try for example the "Opel" theme available here at kde-look - with 65% translucency your windows will get a sick, greenish-yellow color :o

It would be super cool if translucent windows would reflect the current color!

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
