Description:

This is a set of widget styles for Qt4/KDE4, KDE3 and Gtk2 based apps.

0.49 is the first version to have a Qt4/KDE4 port. This version may be compiled with just Qt4 - in which case the KDE4 control panel config dialog will not be built. See the INSTALL file for more details.

The fonts and colours for the GTK themes will be read in from your Qt settings - so any KDE font/colour changes will also affect your GTK apps.

**NOTE:** The Gtk3 release has been removed, as the Gtk theme API has changed!

NOTE: kde-look.org had a server crash, and the original QtCurve entry was deleted.

Changelog:

KDE4
====

1.8.14
------
1. Fix loading of kwin decoration/config under KDE4.9

KDE3
====

1.8.5
-----
1. Allow scrollbar sliders to be as thin as 5 pixels. At this setting, sliders will be squared.

Gtk2
====

1.8.16
------
1. fix memleak with newer versions of cairo.

 v1.8 buttons

 by SvenArcher on: Dec 1 2010

The joined toolbar buttons look great! Thanks much for the update.

Since the update, though, google chrome is crashing with:

/usr/bin/google-chrome: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libqtcurve.so: undefined symbol: gtk_widget_get_state

I tried a different GTK2 app & it did the same.

In both cases, the crash occurred after the first click in the app. Chrome crashed on first click (which was a link). The other app (gnome-nettool) crashed when I clicked a tab.

I reverted QtCurve GTK2 back to 1.7.2 & the crashes went away.

System info:

Linux 2.6.27.54-0.1-default x86_64
openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64)
4.5.3 (KDE 4.5.3) "release 1"
gtk2-2.16.6-1.8

Let me know if you need more info. Thanks again for the update.

 perl symbol lookup error

Hello,

I'm using QtCurve-KDE3-1.8.0 and QtCurve-Gtk2-1.8.0 under CentOS 5.5 and kde-3.5.10. If starting zim, the following error occurs.

usr/bin/perl (perl-5.8.8-32.el5_5.2): symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libqtcurve.so: undefined symbol: gtk_tree_view_convert_widget_to_bin_window_coords

regards
Olaf

Wow! You have a *very* old version of Gtk2 - these functions have been in since 2.12!

To fix, edit treeview.c and add this line to the top of the file:

#if GTK_CHECK_VERSION(2, 12, 0)

..and this to the bottom:

#endif

Then, edit qtcurve.c and at about line 3812, before the "if(!isFixedWidget(widget))" add the "#if ..." as above. Then just before "if(GTK_STATE_SELECTED==state || alpha<1.0)" add the "#endif" line.

Will add this to 1.8.1

Hello,

thank you very much. Now the following error occurs if the mouse is on a toolbar icon of zim.

/usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libqtcurve.so: undefined symbol: gtk_window_set_opacity

Yes, the CentOS 5.5 version of Gtk2 is very old, so I am more grateful that you are willing to help me. Thank you very much!

regards
Olaf

Right, edit qtcurve.c ant at about line 3909, change from:

if(!nonGtk && !useAlpha && GTK_IS_WINDOW(widget))
gtk_window_set_opacity(GTK_WINDOW(widget), 0.875);

to:

#if GTK_CHECK_VERSION(2,12,0)
if(!nonGtk && !useAlpha && GTK_IS_WINDOW(widget))
gtk_window_set_opacity(GTK_WINDOW(widget), 0.875);
#endif

 menus and background alpha

 by koko2k on: Dec 2 2010

Score 50%

Setting a custom gradient with alpha values =/= 100 for popup menus, leads to graphical corruption.
see:
http://www.imagebam.com/image/fcd6dd109127739

tested with nvidia binary driver with effects turned on; xrender and opengl backend.

Thanks!

This update fixed an issue I was having with Firefox and gtk with mouseovers. I wasn't absolutely sure it was a QtCurve issue which is why I didn't mention it. But, thanks again!

Please make an option to remove button frame just on menu button, so I can make it to look like Plastik decorations.

No button frame is drawn on the menu button if you select to place the window icon on the menu button.

D'oh!!! You think I would know my own theme!

There is no frame for circular buttons (as there would not be enough space), but there is for square buttons. This is inconsistent, so I'll remove the frame in all cases where the window icon is drawn on the menu button.

Could you allow independent rounding of widgets? like scrollbar/sliders to have a different degree of rounding than buttons/comboboxes?

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
