Description:

This is a set of widget styles for Qt4/KDE4, KDE3 and Gtk2 based apps.

0.49 is the first version to have a Qt4/KDE4 port. This version may be compiled with just Qt4 - in which case the KDE4 control panel config dialog will not be built. See the INSTALL file for more details.

The fonts and colours for the GTK themes will be read in from your Qt settings - so any KDE font/colour changes will also affect your GTK apps.

**NOTE:** The Gtk3 release has been removed, as the Gtk theme API has changed!

NOTE: kde-look.org had a server crash, and the original QtCurve entry was deleted.

Changelog:

KDE4
====

1.8.14
------
1. Fix loading of kwin decoration/config under KDE4.9

KDE3
====

1.8.5
-----
1. Allow scrollbar sliders to be as thin as 5 pixels. At this setting, sliders will be squared.

Gtk2
====

1.8.16
------
1. fix memleak with newer versions of cairo.

 Custom popup menu color?

 by koko2k on: Nov 17 2010

It would be nice to have the ability to choose a custom background color for popup menus if one want it to be different from background or menubar ones.

...QtCurve rocks!

 installing manually in kde3

Hi!

I see, you included the forms/menus background in the kde3 version, great!

I've downloaded it, but cmake tells me, there is an enviroment variable missing, wich tells cmake, the location of kde3 (/opt/kde3), so it can't find kde3.

What is the name of this variable?
And if i tell cmake, to build the configuration module, i can replace the old one directly with the new?

 kde3 config module

by tch on: Nov 20 2010

Score 50%

I've managed to build the qtcurve library file, but i cannot build the config module.
It always says:
-- Didn't find KDE3 headers
INFO: KDE3 not found! Compiling for Qt only! (Not building the config module)

Wich package should i install?

Please dont bother trying to compile the KDE3 config - it will *not* compile! Too many changes have been made to the config, and the KDe3 config dialog code has not been kept up to date.

Okay, then where can i found the "command list" of the config file?
I mean if i would like to config it manually, then there is some manual wich explains the possibilities and meanings of the qtcurve config file?

Sorry - no documentation. Look at the code, in config_file.c/common.h (but its quite messy). Or Use KDE4 config dialog.

 Feature Request

by SvenArcher on: Nov 24 2010

I really like the look of the new joined toolbar buttons feature. Would it be possible to add a "sunken and joined" option . . . where the normal button state would look similar to the current "raised and joined" pressed button state?

Not sure *how* that would work. How would you know if a button is pressed, if they all look that way?

I might add an option to specify the appearance of toolbar buttons separately.

I think I understand... For buttons representing a toggled on/off state, you would lose the visuals representing the current selection.

I probably should have been thinking in terms of "etched" . . . but your separate config idea sounds nicer.

 Improve resolution

Hi! Can you improve resolution in some widgets elements like cross, ticks or scrollbar buttons.
QtCurve is a great theme/engine but this things makes it seems like coming from the past.
It would be great have an "HD" version of this elements.

Thank you!

1. i love your work, it´s the best style for kde :)
2. plz keep your great work
3. two things would be nice, if possible - different colors for buttons and toolbar buttons and to define a gap for the scrollbar slider
4. i love this style

KDE already supports setting the button colour.

I don't really use, or like, QtCurve's custom colours - as these don't change when you change the colour scheme. Never liked the idea of half the colours being defined in the colour scheme, and half in the style - seems silly.

1.8 will have the option of specify a different gradient for the toolbar buttons.

Gap for the scrollbar? Do you mean the gap between the scrollview and the scrollbar, when they are outside the scrollview?

yeah, that´s great...setting an own gadient for the toolbar buttons is all i need...i think i wasn´t clear enough
i just meant, if i give a darker color (gradient) to the toolbar, i want to do this for the toolbar buttons, too

gap: i mean a small gap between the scrollbar outline and the slider (or is it a margin, hmmm)
for example, the scrollbar is 15 px, but the slider just 13 px wide

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
