Description:

Icon set for KDE 3.0 and KDE 3.1
Complete iconset with around 600 original icons. It can be used as individual icons for X desktops, or as a complete iconset for KDE 3.0-3.1 or above (new KDE features will not be iconized at this moment).
Please, read the 'readme' text file for more info.
This iconset is under LGPL. Read the 'lesser.txt' text file about the license.
Enjoy it!
Many thanks to es.kde.org to host the icons; muchas gracias people :D
Carlitus

Changelog:

1.00
Finally available as a direct download.
-Added icons for these daily use apps: Kget, Kmail, Ark, K3b
-An important change: now it's under LGPL; previously was under GPL, and changed because the LPGL it's more permissive (requested by some KDE dev, and suggested by some Gnome users too).

0.95
10-september-2003
This iconset was stored in a external server. At this date, that server don't allow external links to their files, so this iconset can't be downloaded! I can pay for a extensive-downloaded file like this iconset, so i will appreciate any help (a server to store my files freely -or not-). Thanks for the support.

0.95
11-august-2003
Only fixed a broken download link

0.95
-Added the 128x128 size. Not all icons are in this size.
-Added KDE 3.1 icons, such tab icons, kget, messagebox, ...
-Added the throbber.
-Fixed important icons, previously released but missing on last update (such filesave, www)
-Small fixes.
-The Readme text file is more complete. Now have howto's, links to other Noia icons/skins and the complete iconlist.

0.90
Refining and polishing of lots of icons, specially for actions and apps.
Now the Noia icons for KDE is under GPL license.

0.50
Added 142 new icons.
No more icons will be added (except if there's any important KDE missing icon).
Other icons will be released apart.
The next release will be the Release Candidate, and it will contain some icons redesigned and the small icons fixed.
Now it's time to say wich are the bad designed icons. Send me a e-mail or post a comment.
Thanks

Seems like the graphic of my word processors looks better than my games.

:-)

Well, it's a icon style that you have to use in small portions. It's a comic style. So I really wonder why you don't enhance graphics that deserve it more (linke KDE Games).

First of all, thanks for the patience awaiting for the final release.
Fortunately it's comming (i'm just checkin' for bugs).
-Some icons are different in the smallest sizes, because they don't look right.
-The final release will not have more app specific icons (K apps or not K apps), because the iconset will never be finished and the download it's so big at this point!; except, the icons for K3B and Kget icons (very hughly for these daily used apps).
-Icons for specific KDE 3.2 will be not made. Instead, it will be made a iconset for KDE 3.3, specially when the Noia icons are scheduled to be included (as a optional iconset i guess) in that release.
-Other changes will be made in time, but surelly i will not make a lot of changes. You must thing: this iconset is a personal point of view (how a desktop must look), just for daily use; i surprised to see how the KDE iconsets have icons for a lot of diverse apps; i don't know all these apps, and surelly some icons will differ from the original app design (i checked Internet for these designs, and i did a new design based on these designs).

About the storage: i must thank to everyone who emailed me offering storage for my icons! Sincerelly, i surprised again with the Linuxers help! This is not a problem. I'm just finishing the 1.00 release in 2-3 days, so wait just some days to download it.

About my personal adress: my domain was ended :(, and the renovation taken a lot of days! In adition, when my accounts was reactivated, i received a lot of virus-spammed mails (more than 4.000 in one day, damn!), and i needed more days until the server spam filters worked. Anyway, i receive a lot of personal emails, specially from Linux and OSX communities.

About the 3d Noia release (yes, the famous Noia Natural), it will be released soon. WHen the Noia and Noia Warm was 1.00 i will work on it. Anyway, you must thnk that iconset don't will be very useful for daily use... but it will be the most fun, and never seen on a *nix desktop.

Hi Carlitus, thank you so very much for the great work!

I can't believe your icons are not going into KDE 3.2! Any idea why? In my opinion they must go into 3.2! (Sorry about so many exclamation marks. :-)

Any chance to make an icon for KPlayer http://kplayer.sourceforge.net/ and its buttons? http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/kplayer/kplayer/icons/
Right now it uses icons "borrowed" from various themes, including Noia of course, but having its own special icons would be great!

For making this iconset.
And for making it "COMPLETE".
You are right. There is never
an "end" to this, because there
a so many apps out there.
But I've tried many other iconsets
published here on kde-look and
none of them had enough icons
for Konqueror so they are hardly
usable from my point of view.
Noia 0.95 already contained enough
icons to be really usable and is
the icon set I used ever since.
The "1" in front of the point is
well deserved.
So again, thank you for giving
this to the community.

Maybe you want to take somebody up on that offer of FTP space. When I try to download the new version, I get:

403 Forbidden.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
