Description:

Keuphoria is a KDE3 port of Terence M. Welsh's Euphoria screensaver.

See the site of the author: http://perso.club-internet.fr/hftom/screensavers/index.html

I have just made an RPM for Mandrake 9.0 available on my homepage : http://membres.lycos.fr/billery/

Hope you will enjoy it.

Changelog:

* 10 oct. : I have replaced my rpm by Texstar's one (Mandrake users, you probably know that Texstar is our very very good friend).

 Strange problem

Hello everybody !
I am a newbie.
I just unstalled the Mandrake 9.0 few days ago.

I installed succesfully the Keuphoria rpm by a "rpm -ivh 3379-keuphoria-0.1.1-1tex.i586.rpm"

It was working in the beginning. :-)
but stop working afterward.

I was playing with it i.e. trying different configurations when it stop working.

Symptom: when I click on the configuration button, the configuration window appears and then disappears immediatly.

Any clue ?

Thanks in advance !

 reset the config

it installed fine... but once i
started to mess with the different
configurations.. it crapped out.

I think problem is that when it tries
to preview the screensaver with
diff config.. it craps out.. so you'll
never get a chance change the settings
back because it keeps crappin out.

edit ~/.kde/share/config/keuphoriarc

and zero out all the values

 Same problem here

Yes, same problem. I've tried the a couple of the preset buttons and now here's what happening:

1) in the list of screensavers, when I click on Keuphoria, there's no preview any longer

2) if I click on configure, the configuration window flashes for half a second and disappears.

=> Please! Please! Where does the screensaver write its configuration so that I can revert it to the normal?

...the above post.

vi ~/.kde/share/config/keuphoriarc

and deleting all values did the trick. For all those who don't want to have this experience, just don't play around with buttons other than "Normal", "Grid" and "Cubism". All other broke the screensaver.

 config?

by Elassus on: Nov 16 2002

okay, since i'm on SuSE, i tried to use the tarball (see above, for the link) but i keep getting the same error when i try to make:

In file included from keuphoriasetup.cpp:28:
keuphoria.h:34: GL/gl.h: No such file or directory
keuphoria.h:35: GL/glx.h: No such file or directory
keuphoria.h:36: GL/glu.h: No such file or directory

now, i KNOW i have openGL working, but SuSE uses mesaglut, not mesaglu. so maybe it's looking for something else? and i'm using the nvidia and GLX drivers from nvidia's SuSE distro.

i know this isn't exactly the proper place to ask this (you just ported it, after all) but i would like to get this working.

thanks!

 Missing Screensavers

This Screensaver looks great, however, for some reason, all my screensavers have disappeared from the list in the KDE Control Center. This happened before I installed this screensaver and installing this one hasn't brought them back. However, the strange thing is that all the screensaver files are still existing and in the right place:

/usr/share/applnk/System/ScreenSavers

I'm using Mandrake 9.0 . If someone could help, I would really appreciate it because I have been looking everywhere for a solution but found nothing :-(

Many thanks.

 Missing Screensavers

I have the same thing running on Mandrake 9.0. I noticed mine disappeared after installing the Texstar euphoria rpm.

Anyone with a clue of what Mandrake 9.0 wants to have in place to show screensavers you have installed?

 Troubles

I also had a problem with the conf window flashing, no preview, and screensaver was a blank (black :) one.

I've just made a 'chmod 666 /dev/nvidia*' to give normal users rw access to the display controller.

All is ok now...

Hope this help

I also removed the line

'=/dev/nvidia* /dev/3dfx*'

in /etc/security/console.perms

CAREFULL : Remove this line, DONT comment it.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
