SKY icons 0.7.3
Little update
Added konqueror, opera and kmail icons.

SKY icons are a new 48x48 icon theme for KDE 3.x.x.
Folders and mime icons aren't based over default KDE icons.
It looks clean, pretty, simple and not boring.
This is iconset is completely made from scratch with the Gimp.
I'm not supported from anyone so I do it only in the free-time.

SOFTWARE

The Gimp : creation and manipulation of icons.
ImageMagik : conversion and scaling.
Sodipodi : creation of wide icons.
KDE 3.0.3 / SuSE 8.1 : authoring platform.

This is my favorite icon set. But I like the square recycle bin from 0.6.6 better than the round trash can in 0.6.8.
I just copied over the old one and now I am very happy! These icons are now the default on all my computers!

In the distribution there are both trashcan' icons, so everyone could choose their favourite.
I prefer the new one so it's the default, but probably in the future I'll make another icon.

the style is the default hicolor kde style.
fonts: many times people ask me what font and where I found it, well, I love fonts and download them from everywhere across the web... but in this case the font is:
"Zud Juice" (C) 2001 Nate Piekos. All Rights Reserved.

Great work! Icons are getting better and better. I love new mouse and scanner icons.

But I don't like the perspective of hdd icons. They should be rotated in the same way as e.g. scanner.

The new kmenu icon is nice, but, you know, not only linux users use KDE (what about *bsd and so on?).

Once again, great set!

Hello Dave,

Congrats with you iconset, it keeps getting better every day and I use them exclusively on my home and work PC.

I downloaded the "microsoft extension for crystal", i.e. a Word, Excel and Powerpoint icon, and they look fine. In fact, one of the best things with your icons is that they do not really crash with other major icon themes (except Aquafusion of course ... shudder) - they go quite well together with most KDE standard icons and Crystal icons.

Still, I wonder if you would consider designing Word, PowerPoint and Excel icons with a 100 % sky look - if and when you feel like it of course.

Unfortunately, some of us still have to keep tons of documents in these formats around on the hard drive :).

P.S. For Aquafusion fans: The above shudder is a very "personal taste reaction". The icons are real pieces of art and very good work - It's just that I personally find them too overwhelming for an icon theme :).
