Description:

This is a mockup, obviously. I tried to obtain something a bit more polished than what we can see today on our desktops.
I focused on a new style (if anyone is interested to code it tell me since I can't code) and on the way a filebrowser could work.

(the only artworks not by me in the pic are the icq and jabber icons, I wish to thanks their authors)

Nice work, eriol.

I've seen some of your ideas at the KDE artists forum.

I think it would be foolish for the dev's NOT to go with your suggestions for KDE 4.

This is awesome.

i _really_ like the fact that you implemented a find AND a seperate filter textbox instead of just one!! very nice font face too! what is that? anyways -- excellent job, i really hope this feel is something that is considered for v.4 =D

take it easy!

well...it does look appealing. Like...if this were an ice cream flavor, I'd surely eat it up. But, other than that, I really have no idea what's going on. I'm getting lost in all these random colored boxes and scroll bars and whatnot. I think there's got to be much more coherence, and a much simpler ui than even this. It is a nice contribution altogether, however. Thanks!

I really really like the filemanager! I think it is more usable that konqueror today because the interface is cleaned up and it has a "places" panel and a search field in the toolbar.

I like your widget style too but it is not always consistent (tabs look different in settings/main window, black tab bar would only look nice if it has the width of the window) so it can be hard to program it.

I have my doubts tough about the contact menu. How will it scale? Even if you have groups, a listview is much more convenient than a menu to display 100 or even 40 contacts.

Also the +/- buttons in group menu title would make me think that they allow me to add/remove contacts instead of expanding/collapsing the group. Maybe an arrow pointing right/down?

Buttons (or any other widget type besides today's menu items) in menu's also imply that a menu doesn't always disappear when you click on it. Because of this it may become confusing which window has focus (the menu or the application window) (I know, the title bar, but still ...).

Nice piece of work there, it brings nice features of every other desktop but still stays true to kde.

One problem, shouldnt that be Kreate, Kommunicate and Konfigure? ;)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
