Description:

nuoveXT is an icon theme for GNOME and KDE.

This is my first attempt of creating an icon theme. There is still a lots to do, but I thought I could share what I've done so far. Made entirely with Inkscape.

A big THANKS to:

- Inkscape: what a great tool! :D
- Ubuntu, Linux and Open Source in general
- All the other GNOME and KDE artists who have inspired me and specially everaldo (http://www.everaldo.com/) which is, I think, simply the best icon designer out there ;-)
- Open Clip Art Library (http://openclipart.org/).
- DeviantArt: One of the best place for inspiration and artworks.
- pwsp.net for hosting my project.

Constructive feedbacks are more than welcome ;-)

Enjoy!

Saki

 missing major icons.

Cyrstal was the first complete icon theme that was beautiful and with character. This is probably the second. I wanted to try a new icon theme and this is best I've seen so far. But it is missing a couple important icons:

- executable file (a gear...)
- dvi file (a lion head)
- slideshow file

and not so major ones:
- eps file
- and a LYX icon, please!

Thanks for a very creative and new icon theme, which not another shiny crystal variant!

 Great icon set

That's a great icon set, you are doing a good job.

But why did you move toward CC ?

You are greeting Inkscape, Ubuntu, Linux, Open Clipart, etc. which you used and are all Free Software, and you set a non-Free license to your work.

Well it's your work, and as I said, it's a great one, and you are free to use any license you want, but since your work is now not Free, I won't agreed to use it anymore :-(

Regards

Hi,

I am the maintainer of the debian package kde-icons-nuovext. And as I mentioned before, here in debian we have only version 1.1 which was GPL.

With the non-com clause in nuovext 1.5, this version became non-free and will therefore never hit the debian-archive.

As is seems, there are many debian users who like nuovext, but I guess they will change to another icon set when nuovext becomes too outdated.

Please consider to remove the non-com clause in the CC license, to make these icons free again. With this step, I can update the debian version to 1.5

Kind regards

Bastian

If you want do contact me here you can find my mailadress and general information about the debianized version of your package:

Not trying to be rude or anything, but this concept has been severly over-done. It seems that every time crystal releases an icon set, it is immidiately followed by another one that looks just like it, and somehow manages to get rated higher than the original.

Even the name of the icons put me in the mind of Nuvola, and I just assumed that they were a new version of that set.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
