Splash Screen Engine for KDE
Heavily customizable engine for various types of themes

Thats it: I'll not continue writing code for this. I thought I would migrate it to KDE4, but i have to say that KDE4 isn't what i've expected.

Its not intuitive as it should be, ... but thats another topic :) currently i'm searching for a new desktop environment.

Independently I'will thank all people supporting this project in any way!!!

- Scale cache
- Fading images
- Use current icon set or custom images
- Unlimited Custom text labels
- Set fading delay and length
- Custom image arrangement
- Resolution independent themes

* Code structure improved
* Increased performance
* Optimized default themes
* New: Scale-cache (work dir is current users ksplash directory) (testing)
* New: Shell process output support for MagicLabels (ML:CMD:[command], i.e.: ML:CMD:date)
No newline support at the moment!
* Changed: MagicLabels behaviour for user info (ML:USER:[info], i.e.: ML:USER:fullname)
* Changed: THEMEOPTIONS is has moved to src/doc
* Changed: Default background image extension changed to faster .jpg (.png is still supported)

* Fix: Restored default MoodinKDE as shown in screenshot
* Fix: Label arrangement
* Font scaling implemented
* Added username to FingerPrint
* Improved label arrangement (center vertical, horizontal with -1)
* Improved (and simpler) image arrangement
* New Option: LineUpImages
* New Option: Translate
* New Option: ImageOffset
* New Option: SplashRect (usually no need to change)
* Option renamed: TextShadow -> LabelShadow
* Option renamed: TextShadowColor -> LabelShadowColor
* Option renamed: ShadowOffset -> LabelShadowOffset
* Option renamed: StatusTextColor -> StatusColor

* Fix: Option "ShowStatusText"
* Fix: Scaling issue
* Support for images with different sizes (fade everything everywhere!)
* No need for image sizes, just coords
* MagicLabels: Unlimited, full-customizable (color, font, position, text) text labels
* MagicLabels: Display pre-defined values with prefix "ML:" (currently: loginname, fullname, homedir)
* Some code improvements
* New Option: ShadowOffset
* Scaling positions for resolution independent themes (thanks to Andreas Mittelmeier)

* Custom icon/image placement (auto, manual, depend-pre)
* Custom Welcome/Status placement
* Improved drawing code
* Custom status messages
* Use current desktops wallpaper as background
* Added text shadow
* THEMEOPTIONS file in theme directory (quick 'n dirty)

* Fixed background problem
* MoodinKDE theme now included in engine

* Initial release

# Go to Control Center
# Select "Appearance & Themes"
# Select "Splash Screen"
# Click "Add..."
# Browse for the downloaded file
# Select the new Theme
# Restart KDE
# Have fun! :-)

i was follow the step as above but it doesnt work at all. I chage the step '# Browse for the downloaded file' to browse to the moodin folder but still doesnt work.

I install moodin per the instructions that came with it. No matter what i do mandriva will not run at all under a user account. But if i log in as root from the login screen, moodin works. I think it has to be a permission issue, but for the life of me i cannot figure out what i need to do to correct.

When i install moodin, i started from my normal user account and ran ./configure then make, then logged in as su, and ran make install. which is what the install instructions state to do.

if any one can assist or tell me what i need to do it would make me very happy.

 No C library

Same problem on SuSE (the latest version, I did the install 2 days ago).
Apparently, the configure file goes ape because of some apparent lack of a C library...
So where does one get a C library? and then what are we supposed to do with it?

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
