 RAM display

It doesn't show the correct amount of physical Ram I have installed. I have encountered this with other "monitors" as well.. I have 1500MB Installed. Yes 1500MB.. Any ideas as to why. Also pop3 Checker woiuld be nice. Overall though it pretty good.

Good Job :)

Problem solved. Ubuntu doesn;t ship with HIMEM enabled. You need to download the 686 kernel for memory above 885MB to shoow up

It's probably because you don't have HIHGMEM support in your kernel, and not actually a fault of the monitor at all. Compare the differences between free -m and if you're using a Linux cat /proc/mtrr

Here is the output from free -m:

total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 2015 643 1372 0 41 374
-/+ buffers/cache: 228 1787
Swap: 2045 0 2045

Here are the contents of /proc/mtrr:

reg00: base=0x00000000 ( 0MB), size=2048MB: write-back, count=1
reg01: base=0x7ff80000 (2047MB), size= 512KB: uncachable, count=1

Ubermon is reporting 644 MB of RAM on RHEL 3.0.

It would be nice to be able to control transparency and font color as the default configuration of this version all but disappears on a light background.

If there is any output from .cshrc then it appears in the monitor and clutters the display. You may want to somehow filter that stuff.

Other than that it is a nice monitor.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
