Minimum required   KDE 3.4.x
Downloads:  134070
Submitted:  Mar 23 2005
Updated:  Dec 17 2007

Description:

KDM Theme manager is just what it says a theme Manager for KDM.
This control module allows you to easily add, remove and select any KDM theme you want.

to install:
./configure
make
su -c "make install"

To run kdmtheme simple open K Control Center and go to System Administration
There you will find KDM Theme Manager

Enjoy!

Packagers, if you want your package listed here, email me or post the link in the comments.
Please note that only the source packages come from me. I do not know if any of the other ones will work or are valid.
A Kubuntu package is now in "Universe" so look for updates there.
Gentoo ebuilds are in portage.

********
KDM Theme WILL be included in KDE4!
The integration has been completed and committed! as of 10/16/2006

Theme Designers please make sure to include a KdmGreeterTheme.desktop in your archives. Failure to do so may cause your themes to no longer work in KDE4!!

Changelog:

2007-09-28 (1.2): Backport of the KDE4 version
2007-10-08 (1.2.1): Fixed a porting bug where the selectionChanged() signal was never connected correctly.
2007-12-16 (1.2.2): Actually save things... (I am quite embarrassed about this one..)
Enable saving when you only disable themes. (emit the changed signal)

 No Install Kub 6.10

Thank you for a highly necessary applicaton.
I'm sorry to say I couldn't install it on Kubuntu Edgy.
After downloading, config wouldn't work because of several unmet dependencies. Looked up the error messages on the net, downloaded the required dependencies, and the config, make and make install worked properly finally.

Except, finally, there was nothing in the K Menu where I understand Theme Manager is supposed to reside.

Can you please help? I would gladly install themes from a tarball, but the only one I've tried strangely didn't have a config file.

I know of no other way to install new themes in KDE/Kubuntu.

Thank you,
Jackn

I am using Kubuntu (KDE 3.5.6)
KDM Theme Manager requires administrator mode but there is no button for it like the other windows.

Hi,

This is a bug in systemsettings, you have to use kcontrol (Alt+F2 and type kcontrol)

Hi, I'm running KDE on Slax and I made the theme manager into a module for it. I see the menu entry in the Control Center, but when I click it, the KDM Theme Manager doesn't come up in the right side of the window. Anyone know what might be causing this?

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
