Submitted:  Mar 23 2005
Updated:  Dec 17 2007

Description:

KDM Theme manager is just what it says a theme Manager for KDM.
This control module allows you to easily add, remove and select any KDM theme you want.

to install:
./configure
make
su -c "make install"

To run kdmtheme simple open K Control Center and go to System Administration
There you will find KDM Theme Manager

Enjoy!

Packagers, if you want your package listed here, email me or post the link in the comments.
Please note that only the source packages come from me. I do not know if any of the other ones will work or are valid.
A Kubuntu package is now in "Universe" so look for updates there.
Gentoo ebuilds are in portage.

********
KDM Theme WILL be included in KDE4!
The integration has been completed and committed! as of 10/16/2006

Theme Designers please make sure to include a KdmGreeterTheme.desktop in your archives. Failure to do so may cause your themes to no longer work in KDE4!!

Changelog:

2007-09-28 (1.2): Backport of the KDE4 version
2007-10-08 (1.2.1): Fixed a porting bug where the selectionChanged() signal was never connected correctly.
2007-12-16 (1.2.2): Actually save things... (I am quite embarrassed about this one..)
Enable saving when you only disable themes. (emit the changed signal)

 kdmtheme is illegibl

Hi, I installed the 1.1.2 version. It seems to work fine except that I can't read anything. Theme name, button name looks like this: KD>_ ZJ and so on.
I had a french language configuration, I thought that the language settings could cause the problem but setting kde in english doesn't help.
Any idea how to fix the problem?

My configurations are ppc g4. Xorg, Xdarwin. I installed it with the command lines showed above in the description info. My KDE version is 3.5.3. I did had a problem with the previous version, it used to make kcontrol to crash.

Since there is no 1.1.2 version of kdm theme manager for debian, I have created a .deb file for it:

http://www.easy-share.com/587444.html
See if it works for you guys.

Actually this Debian package doesn't work on Debian Etch.
Furthermore sources' Configure script returns error "checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!"

Sorry, I did not know that the link to the debian version takes you the 1.1.2 download. I thought it was only 1.1 since that is what it says, I should have checked the link first.

 Works

Weird thing, I'm running Fedora Core 5. The version available via yum would not run from its normal shortcut. If I ran it from the KDE control center it would show me what my normal user was allowed to see. However if I tried launching it from the command line as root or clicking "Aministrator Mode" so I could actually install new themes, it would crash. The Fedora version available here works flawlessly, thanks for making it available.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
