Description: This is a Keramik style&deco. with transkicker-keramik.patch (by teax). I have made the TARBALL version of 'transparent keramik' for every distribution. (See http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=2193 for the RPM/SRPM version of 'transparent keramik'.) -- [preparation] $ su # tar xfz keramik.tar.gz # cd keramik [modification] (optional) # bunzip2 transkicker-keramik.patch.bz2 # vi transkicker-keramik.patch (change 'panelOpacity = 70.1;' at line 192 to your taste. default=7, semi-transparent. :) # bzip2 transkicker-keramik.patch [build] (!! You need kdebase-devel, kdelibs-devel, and automake >= 1.5 !!) # ./build_trans-kicker.sh -- That's all. Have a nice day~ :D

I managed to get everything working on Debian - all you have to do is:
# export $KDEDIR=/usr
before running the build script. I'm toying with the idea of making my first .deb package from this, but have to research that first.

i unpack/compile/made the tarball with no problem (apparently), now i tried to change for the keramik style but in the KDE control center only the keramik colors apper, the keramik style is not on the style list, although he keramik.themerc is on the same location as all the other styles
any thought?

The permission of keramik.themerc is wrong, probably. (I think. :)
Check it and # chmod 644 keramik.themerc .

I was wondering that myself. If keramik is using alpha blending for window decorations, then it should be possible to have an alpha blended border around every single window which would create the shadow effect.

Does keramik actually use alpha-blended window decorations? I've looked at the top-right and top-left edges and can't decide for sure if it's just on/off transprancy or alpha-blended transprancy. Anyone happen to know?

Apparently, it built successfully for me. However, the kicker will not become transparent. Am I missing something? Using Slackware 8.0.

This should be easy to use. I compiled it after a loong effort, yet I can't get the kicker to be transparent. How the hell do I enable this???

This should be easy for someone who doesn't know how to do it...right?

I managed to get everything working on Debian - all you have to do is: # export $KDEDIR=/usr before running the build script. I'm toying with the idea of making my first .deb package from this, but have to research that first. Good Luck! Janax
