Description:

This is a Keramik style&deco. with transkicker-keramik.patch (by teax).

I have made the TARBALL version of 'transparent keramik' for every distribution.

for the RPM/SRPM version of 'transparent keramik'.)

$ su
# tar xfz *keramik.tar.gz
# cd keramik

[modification] (optional)
# bunzip2 transkicker-keramik.patch.bz2
# vi transkicker-keramik.patch
(change 'panelOpacity = 7*0.1;'
at line 192 to your taste.
default=7, semi-transparent. :)
# bzip2 transkicker-keramik.patch

[build]
(!! You need kdebase-devel, kdelibs-devel, and automake >= 1.5 !!)
# ./build_trans-kicker.sh

And by the way: the tryout to install the src-rpm destroyed my prior keramik installation, and it wasn't easy to reinstall it...

do you have the Packages kde3base-devel, kde3lib, autoconf and automake installed? On my SuSE 8.0 they where not installed in the standard desktop installation.

Merkt man an meiner Gramatik wirklich wo ich herkomme???
Es wird wohl zeit für ein Auffrischungskurs ;-)

Naja die Instalation hat bei mir zwar geklappt aber ich kann das Style nicht auswählen :-(

I've installed using the patch in your tarball, but the background doesn't update on the kicker. The patch for highcolor does. Do you know why this might be. Anyone else have this behaviour?

I have followed your instructions, but when it installs, it does only create a file named keramik.desktop in /share/apps/kwin/ I have copied it to /usr/share/apps/kwin/ but it doesn't work anyway.
Is it a complete keramik style or is it only a kwin decoration?

Hi,

you have to missed copy the directory /lib to /usr/lib !
Because during the installation you had to set a environment variable called KDEDIR to /usr like this :
export KDEDIR=/usr
After this, everything is correctly installed unter RedHat
