Translation of sentences is broken in 0.3

by karaytanto on: Feb 19 2013

Hi, since version 0.3 translation of sentences is not working properly example:
"en Je suis heureux de vous voir" shoud give this :
"I am happy to see you"
instead i get this output:
i am
i
i have
happy to see you
glad to see you
it's like the runner is translating every word individualy.

I see, thanks for reporting. Unfortunately there is no documentation for the results provided by google so It's a bit trial and error. I'll try to fix it this week, sorry for the inconvenience.

I just released version 0.3.1. Sentences should now work again! If otherwise, feel free to contact me again.

In some cases there are still problems when translating more than one sentence. I'll fix this later.

I get the following error:

CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:97 (MESSAGE):
Could NOT find KDE4Workspace (missing: KDE4Workspace_CONFIG)
Call Stack (most recent call first):
/usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:288 (_FPHSA_FAILURE_MESSAGE)
/usr/share/kde4/apps/cmake/modules/FindKDE4Workspace.cmake:70 (find_package_handle_standard_args)
CMakeLists.txt:10 (find_package)

Fixable?

Looks like you need to install kdebase-workspace-dev. :-)

Thanks! I made it further installing that but now I get:

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:25 (target_link_libraries):
Cannot specify link libraries for target "krunner_googletranslate" which is
not built by this project.

Help? :)

That's strange. Which version do you use? Because the runner is now named "krunner_translator" not "krunner_googletranslate".

Furthermore there is a bug in Kubuntu. Please have a look on the comment from novalu on the first page. I guess you already used his hint? Then please change "krunner_googletranslate" into "krunner_translator" and everything should work fine.

 krunner crashes wile translating

by karaytanto on: Mar 26 2013

Score 50%

Hi, when i try to translate the word "combinaison" (it's frensh) to english or arabic krunner closes unexpectedly.
but it works when translating to german or spanish (mabe also other languages).

i tried both syntaxes :
fr-en combinaison
en combinaison

and it's always reproducible.

Unfortunately I'm not able to reproduce it. Both variants work without any problem for me.

 Translating longer texts

hi

This runner is great, but I'm wonder if it will be ever able to translate longer texts. I tried to paste there song lyrics but it ended in hanging whole x.org for a couple of minutes :D

From my point of view a runner isn’t really handy for longer texts, even if the performance would be better, is it?

Not 100% true since after pressing enter the translations is pasted to the clipboard and you are free to paste it in any text editor.

I'm not saying that this feature is must have, or that runner sucks without it. I like it the way it is. I'm just wonder.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
