Description:

This runner translates any text using google translate. You can specify a source and a target language or just specigy the target language and use autodetect. For more information read the help dialog, README or have a look at the provided screenshots.

A list of all supported languages you can find here:
https://developers.google.com/translate/v2/using_rest?hl=de#language-params

Example: de house

this will translate "house" into german (de)

Example: fr-en maison

this will translate the french word "maison" into english

Simple, isn't it? :-)

Thanks for your feedback and kudos!

Great work but in Kubuntu 12.04.1 is bug in libs, so I have to change line in CMakeLists:

target_link_libraries(krunner_googletranslate ${KDE4_KUTILS_LIBS} ${KDE4_KDEUI_LIBS} ${KDE4_PLASMA_LIBS} ${KDE4_KIO_LIBS} ${QJSON_LIBRARIES})

-->

target_link_libraries(krunner_googletranslate ${KDE4_KUTILS_LIBS} ${KDE4_KDEUI_LIBS} ${KDE4_PLASMA_LIBS} ${KDE4_KIO_LIBS} ${qjson_LIBRARIES})

(only QJSON --> qjson)

It would be great to have the option to specify the original language for those cases in which a same word (with different meaning) exists for different languages

I thought so too. Which syntax would you prefer? How about "fr-en <word>" for translating a french word into english?

Yes, that would be great.... I think an arrow is perhaps more explicit, but it also requires an extra character that maybe is not necessary

fr->en <word>

Any of the two would be great to me

New version is available now! :-)

The source language can be specified now, but there are some more improvements.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
