Description:

DEPENDENCIES:

- KDE 4.10.1 or later (4.10 has a bug with notifications)

- libdeclarative-multimedia (for debian based distros, including ubuntu, of course)
or
- qt-mobility (for any other distro)

make sure you have these dependencies installed before add tomatoid to your panel, it may crash your plasma-desktop.

Pomodoro is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down periods of work into 25-minute intervals called 'Pomodoros' (from the Italian word for 'tomatoes') separated by breaks. Closely related to concepts such as timeboxing and iterative and incremental development used in software design. The method is based on the idea that frequent breaks can improve mental agility.

Tomatoid is a pomodoro timer for KDE and is written in QML + Javascript

 Very nice

Very nice plasmoid, but I often miss the message about finishing the pomodoro.
Can you add an option to chose my own message command?
I usually prefer kdialog --msgbox "Pomodoro finished...".

 Invisible text

Love the app, but the color of the text where you write the title of a new task is white on white background and therefore invisible (running kubuntu 12.04 without 3d effects).

this depends on your plasma theme. Try air, helium or caledonia..

Same problem here using Oxigen theme. Would be possible to have the text in black. All texts in other plasma apps don't have this problem.

Thank you for this great plasmoid.

 Ticking sound

Hello,

Could you please implement a ticking feature while the clock is running?

The pomodoro technique's idea is to have a ticking sound who triggers the sense of productivity. I think that it could be very useful in this plasmoid.

Best Regards.

Is it possible to add a sound notification? At 5 minute break I'm usually away from computer and I always miss the notification.

 Configuration of Notification

It would really be nice to configure these notifications in standard KDE style.

Nice plasmoid.

What do you mean? Every time a pomodoro or a break ends, the plasmoid pops-up a KDE notification.

However, there is a bug in KDE 4.10 in the new QML notification plasmoid that does not show tomatoid notifications. This bug is fixed in KDE 4.10.1

You're right. There's a notification. But in most KDE applications you can configure the notification with a lot of options (sound, speech, start program, popup, highlight, log). Not everything is useful for this plasmoid but it would really be nice if some of the options are avaiable and could be configured. And the best would be doing this the standard KDE way :)

Hm, I see. I need to know if this is possible with Plasma QML. If I find a way to do this in QML I'll add this feature in the next release :)

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
