This item is a part of Steam-Powered Linux KDE theme set.

The idea is to apply steampunk style to every themeable part of KDE-based distro. Any constructive feedback is highly appreciated. I will try to implement your propositions/fix bugs once I have spare time.

Parts of this set currently available:
KDM: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=142139
KSplash: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=142138
QtCurve: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=148276
Dark color scheme: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/SteampunK+Color+Scheme?content=148277
Light color scheme: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/SteampunK+Light+Color+Scheme?content=155868
Wallpapers: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Steampunk+Wallpapers?content=149320
Plasma Desktop theme: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=157926
Yakuake theme: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=158529

You can see KDM and KSplash demo video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3ubaXe8wDE
New video will be recorded as soon as the majority of work is done.

NOTE: It is highly recommended to use this QtCurve theme with corresponding color theme! It uses wood background that may not look good with another color scheme

1. Click Download and get SteampunK.qtcurve file
2. Open System Settings -> Application Appearance -> Style dialog
3. Select QtCurve as Widget style (install QtCurve if not already)
4. Click Configure
5. Click Import and provide downloaded file
6. Apply installed theme
7. Install corresponding color scheme from link in description

Not offended :) I created it to have windows colored as the rest of Steam-Powered Linux themed elements and on my desktop it looks fine.
But of course with other wallpapers, color schemes and applications on another desktop it may look not so good.
Could you please tell what is that you don't like in this theme?

For now, I'm not thinking about it. I'm not a designer at all, while drawing icons requires some artistic talent :) May be I'll search for icons that will look fine on this theme set after I finish Plasma theme

Looks great, and it's nice to finally have a QtCurve theme/color scheme that looks good with your other SteampunK works. My only complaint is the contrast of the text on the buttons is too low. Otherwise, awesome work!

It is because I used the same color for window text and button text. Some of the buttons have the color of window background (they don't look like buttons until you hover mouse over them), so I needed something that is contrast to both button color and window color. However, I can change button color.
Could you please go to Color Settings/Colors/Common Colors and set Button Background color to #FFEED0. Will it look better? Or may be you have better proposition? I just made this scheme, so haven't worked with it much, so any feedback is more than welcome.

Love your theme but I can't install it. I get thru the first 5 steps but when I try to import the file (SteampunkLight.bin) from my download folder, it doesn't show up in the file dialog window.

Nevermind. Installed it thru the KDE system settings installer. Great job! I'm not a fan of the color light blue. So far I've changed my wallpaper, splash screen, and login screen to the steampunk ones. Now I working on the pointers and icons! I'm not quite a Linux noobie, I've dabbled with Linux on and off for several years, but am now ready to make the full commitment to Linux!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
