Description:

Exquisite is a port of the Xp_Mad icon set created byMimin Ladha. Additional icons by Ghast (action icons) were added to complete the icon set, but additinal releases will follow. This icon set uses a modified version of the build script created by Nick Bargnesi. As a result, the download is only 2 MB instead of 10 MB(Yes, I still have love for 56k users). The only tools required to create the entire icon set are bzip, tar, and convert (ImageMagik). Unpackage the Exquisite.tar.bz2 compressed file and run the included script buildset (./buildset - for newbies). Afterwards, use the Kcontrol center to install the icon set. Please provide some feed back about the icon set. I hope most people like it. If not, give me a good vote anyway :-)

Changelog:

Added a link to download an alternative Konsole and Xterm Icon - Removing the C: - you guys really do hate Microsoft don't you.

I'm sure what your problem could be because I can download the files just fine. What Browser are you using?. Try right clicking and selecting save target as.

I notice you've decided to include the icons from my theme :) I'm glad you liked them enough to include them, but would appreciate it if you gave me credit :P

When the icon set is installed, you name is listed in the index file of the icon set. As a result, you name appears as the co-creator under the Kcontrol center Icon Description. You may not have noticed your name in the Kcontrol center, but I'll also update the description text here on KDE-LOOK to insure that you recieve the credit for your great icons.

 C: and MS

As I am (the?) one who suggested to remove the C: ...

MS is irrelevant to me, I have not much feelings about them. But IMO its not correct to have a DOS prompt in a Unix terminal icon.

The second download link has alternate icons that remove the hated Microsoft C:. Personally, a terminal or command prompt perform the same function so it's not a big deal to me. However, because so many people were so passionate about having it removed, I created the alternate icons. I hope everyone enjoys the set.

I didn't really read you message so let reply once again by saying that I hope the alternate icons suite your needs. The set began as a windows icon set, so initially when I ported them my focus was on completing the port. I'll re-release them soon with all native nix artwork.

Who cares. Replace it with another one if you don't like it. I think the icon set is perfect (I did replace the C: prompt icon with a bash prompt icon however.)

If you dual boot with windows you are taking up too much hard disk space.

Could you send me a copy of the icon you changed. I'll add it to the Alternate Icons package and list you as a co-creater.

 Doesn't Work

by linuxgalore on: Aug 14 2004

Just tried to install the icon set file in Mandrake 10 got

The file is not a valid icon theme archive!

To make Linux crash you have to work at it, with Windows you just use it.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
