Description:

A nice Generic Windows Icon theme for you :) Looks great withe the Default KDE style. Use 'kcmshell icons' to install this theme. Now large icons have been cleaned up! Toolbar icons can be of 16, 22 and/or 32 sizes and look quite sharp. It's the only Icon theme I feel that has so many icons except the default KDE icon theme ;) I need your encourgement if you like this theme please click on the good button else you know there is also a bad button ;) Thanks!

Changelog:

For ver 2.2.2-1,

1. Theme works with KDE 2.2.2 since those png files used to be xpm files but renamed to png from the last theme.

I'm a small a fan of Microsoft as the rest of you, but however isn't this a gross misappropriation of copyrighted material? Things like this give credence to the opinion that "Free Software Advocates" == "Software Pirates". Plus - why the f*** would I want KDE to look like W2K?

The Win2k KDE Theme is not a violation of copyright, because it has a similiar look and feel. You can't copyright a look and feel. They didn't steal code.

If I make a website with the same look and feel as another website, with original graphics and menus which LOOK like another one (for ease of navagation), would that make me a copy-cat? Of course not. If I stole their code, yes.

 helpful theme...

I am sure there are way better things than actually having my neat GNU/Linux desktop look like W2k, but since I am also trying to establish as much Linux/Unix workstations for our customers as somehow possible, I really saw it helpful for them to at least have the 'familiar' look on their desktop, at least the very first weeks / months while they're trying to feel home in the new environment. So, even if I am not using it on *my* machine, I think this theme's neat. :>

cheers,
Kris

I can't help but agree. I use KDE to get away from Windows :-) However, the smaller icons (22x22 and 16x16) are great for converting for use on a Palm :D

I don't know about you but I'm trying to escape blue screens, the high memory usaged and the monopolization of my choices, not nice looking trash bins!

I think it's just what you need every time you need to convert a windows-user to linux-Kde. I know, this is miss-apropiated stuff, but at least new linux users will not call me up 5 minutes asking "where's the Explorer (aka Konqueror) icon place ?". IMHO, this is great on big corporate places where learning curve may be a handycap to migrate to linux.

this theme is good for helping someone convert over, I think its excellent, you could probably sneak linux in on someone like your mom and she'd never know ...

My mom uses Linux on a regular basis allready... Without having to use some sort of Windows-like look and feel. Don't get me wrong, I love the theme, but why are we always underestimating mothers?

Who cares if it's misappropriation. Did anyone whine when Win95 came out and it was a blatant rip-off of MacOS? And I mean BLATANT.

I personally don't want my machine to look like winblowz because Linux is sexier than that, but kudos to the developer who worked on this. And I dig the idea of sneaking Linux in on an unsuspecting "future convert." Who says Linux is hard?

I kinda like it. I don't care where those icons came from... if you own one or more PCs, you've paid one too many times for Windows, and it is time we start taking back what we paid for (fonts, backgrounds, sounds, etc...). If you don't like it, don't download it!

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
