 Flicker

by zurab on: Sep 19 2004

Is there a solution to the flickering that happens when a mouse pointer exits the kooldock area? I tried adding/substituting my own update/repaint calls in the code but I don't have any clue as to what I am doing in Qt programming.

Could a double-buffering QWidget::paintEvent solution like this be of any help to the developers?

hey bro... im using fc3 test2... this includes 3.3.0 it install just fine and works great. i installed from source. took like 10 mins on my 750mhz. btw to stop the flickering, i turned the text over the icons off. lemme no if that workes for you.

if you want to mess up a linux box you have to work at it... if you want to screw up a window$ box you have to work ON it.

This is the best dock ive ever used! And it works with kde 3.3 just fine. Easy to configure, Auto-hiding, stable. I would recommend everyone to try it if you haven't already.

Windows once gave me this error message after installing a driver:
Error Loading Explorer.exe
You must reinstall your operating system.
So I installed linux.

 SIGSEV

It made SIGSEV too frequently. It happens after I move mouse pointer out of the dock or taskbar. But Okay, it can restart itself and made no error to other apps.

PS. snapshot in the taskbar is very cool!!!

 no transparent bg?

by decavolt on: Nov 4 2004

Very nice dock, BUT...
I can't get the background to be transparent. I see that it's set that way in the screen shots, but my kooldock won't go transparent - just sticks to the solid background.

(SuSE 9.0 Pro, KDE 3.3.1)

 Some questions

by sgwallpapers on: Nov 10 2004

Score 50%

Very nice bar, but I have some questions:
1. How do I remove the old KDE-bar?
2. How can I show a transparent time field and a systray-area beside the koolbar (do you know programs that offer this functionality)?
3. How do I prevent windows from being displayed under the koolbar when maximized (koolbar does not seem to reserve a certain area of the desktop (e.g. bottom) of the desktop)?

Greetings,

StieveG

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
