You can install wallpaper clock using the normal widget installation procedure, but the actual widget will appear in your Plasma Workspace settings.

1. Right click the desktop and click “Desktop Activity Settings”.
2. Click the dropdown menu next to the label “Type” and find “Wallpaper Clock”.
3. To install new wallpaper clocks, click “Get New Wallpapers”
4. After you have downloaded the ones you want, click “Close”
5. Select the wallpaper you desire and click “OK”.

First thanks for your help
That's the issue : after I install the widget and I go through your steps, the wallpaper clock configuration dialog shows nothing. I don't have the ability to install a new one, and when I try to drop one onto the desktop I only get a white wallpaper.

Maybe I'm missing some package ?

Do you have plasma-scriptengine-python installed? If yes does 'plasmawallpaperviewer --wallpaper clock' executed in konsole show any errors?

I think I have this package, I'm using opensuse, I have python-kde4 installed.

when I tried your command, an empty window showed up. There was no error in the konsole. But when I tried to right click on the window and select configure, I get :
Quote:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma_scriptengine_python/pywallpaper.py", line 43, in init
relpath = os.path.relpath(str(self.mainScript()),str(self.wallpaper().package().path()))
File "/usr/lib/python2.6/posixpath.py", line 400, in relpath
raise ValueError("no path specified")
ValueError: no path specified

and

Quote:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma_scriptengine_python/pywallpaper.py", line 64, in initWallpaper
self.pywallpaper.init(config)
AttributeError: 'PythonWallpaperScript' object has no attribute 'pywallpaper'

plasma-scriptengine-python (python support for plasma desktop) is different package than python-kde4 (python support for KDE in general).

I made some research and plasma_scriptengine_python is included in my /usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma_scriptengine_python/
I have several files in there including pywallpaper.py
I think it is included in python-kdebase4
which I have installed

If I had read error message more carefully I would have seen that python for plasma is installed...

I'm not sure what to do here. You could try to test if other python wallpaper works like:
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Day+and+Night+Wallpaper?content=118636
and test if uninstall/install helps:
$ plasmapkg -r clock
$ plasmapkg -i clock.plasmoid
(files should be in ~/.kde/share/apps/plasma/wallpapers/clock)

Hi and sorry for the late reply.
I tried what you suggested but I still doesn't work : there is no configuration menu but the drag and drop of a wallpaper works now with all wallpaper, since I updated to 4.6-RC2

What's my problem?

Not sure. Might be a packaging problem in Suse. Currently I'm only able to test it in Kubuntu (where it works).

 Crash if multiple instances are used

For me, it sometimes crashes at login if two wallpaper-clocks are loaded in dual monitor setup.

See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259270#c3 for a quick and dirty patch.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
