Description:

Jakob Petsovits has kindly taken over maintaining the icon set. Rather than delete this node (which would screw things up for people who still link to this page) I'm just going to say: GO HERE:

Changelog:

2005-04-28:
NEW MAINTAINER, NEW PAGE

2004-12-07: changed some broken links, removed blue PNGs due to lack of hosting space

(changed links for PNG downloads to mirror until I sort out legal problems with the newtolinux domain)

(added crosslink to gnome-look entry)

0.7.1
---
Only a few new icons in this release. The main features are two colourschemes for download, and some changes in icons to bring the KDE set in line with the GNOME set.

0.7
---
Not a huge change. Just lots more application icons, and a few renamed icons to fix missing icon problems. 128x128 icons are now also distributed with the set.

0.6
---
The main focus in this release has been KOffice, OpenOffice, Mozilla, Quanta, Samba, KMix (inc. systray) and other app icons requested. There are also lots of other new icons, and the set is now available with PNGs. I also fixed the problems with some ksystray icons not showing (klipper, kopete, etc.)

0.5
---
Yet more icons ;) Most significantly, K3B and Kontact should be complete. There are also quite a few new action icons, and some more icons for KControl.

Wow, really nice icons :) It's a good thing people converts Gnome stuff to KDE, especially icons, because Gnome's icons are great (well, so are KDE's). BTW, what is that font you are using on title bar?

The font is aquafont. http://www.aquablue.milkcafe.to

If you use Gentoo, it's in media-fonts/

Hi,

your UI looks really nice. Do you have the themerc color file for us? And which font are you using etc.?

Thanks

I love the icon set, but what if one doesn't use Gentoo? Could you make a K icon for the panel and a generic kog throbber for those of us who don't use Gentoo?

Other then those couple little issues. I love this set. It's nice on the eyes and has lots of style. :)

If anyone wants to remove Gentoo icons and references, all the artwork is shipped as SVGs, so it'd be very easy to do it.

Your panel at the top is on top of your menubar... how do you do that? I've been trying to get it to do that for a while now, and I just can't...

Actually, could you add support for generating the icons with rsvg ? I've currently hacked up the thing to do it, but it's not pretty, and I hate python... :D The rsvg command line looks like:

rsvg -w -h

which currently translates to:

cmd = '%s -w %s -h %s scalable/%s/%s %s' % (app, w, h, d, f, out)

Also, the size 128x128 might be appreciated by various people with large screens. I personally don't know very much about KDE icon structures, but there are settings for the dpi of the resulting icons and for the compression ratio too. Keep up the good work. They are beautiful icons.

yeah, in fact, I think crystal does something like this in kdelibs..

although I think on the fly svg conversion works in kde 3.2.. at least it did when i tried it last in one of the betas (with nuvola)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
