Description:

The concept of this style is harmony of sharpness and softness.
And this style was created based on keramik.
(Please do not ask me about the origin of this style name.)

Notice:
The kwin client is not contained in this style.
You will be able to get it at the following URL.
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=11460

To Install:

./configure --prefix="`kde-config --prefix`"
make
make install

(Please restart KDE after installation)

Changelog:

Ver 1.2.1
*"Surround the taskbar buttons with dark borders" option was added to "Extra Options" group.
(See 3rd screenshot)
*"Disable KMenu Titles" option was added to "Features to disable" group.

Ver 1.2
*The version of Keramik used as a basis was changed to what is contained in KDE-3.2.2.
*"Remove 'subtract-line' area from 'add-line' button of scrollbar" option was added to "Extra Options".
*The custom color option for the statusbar borders was added to "Border Colors" group in "Custom Colors" category.

Ver 1.1.8a(maintenance release)
*Fixed styleconf/activeheartconf.cpp file against the compile error relating to "getenv" function.

Ver 1.1.8
*Scheme manager can read the global scheme files now.
The global scheme file means the scheme files stored in "$KDEDIR/share/apps/kdisplay/styleconfs" directory.
(This feature is mainly based on Piotr Szymanki's work. And I improved it.)
*The custom color option for the menu separators was added to "Menu Colors" group.
*"Border's thickness of menubar and toolbar follows contrast" option was added to "Extra Options"

Ver 1.1.7
*"Reduce pushbutton size" option was added to "Extra Options".

Ver 1.1.6
*Changed the light weight combobox's pulldown buttons thinly.
*"Highlight the active taskbar button with the active tabline color" option was added to "Extra options".

BTW: I do not know a way for adding the "Apply" button to config dialog.

 Menu customization

by zammi on: Apr 26 2004

Score 50%

I found following in a forum
-----------------------------
Adding the following option to ~/.kde/share/config/kickerrc disables
the "All Applications", "Actions" and "Last Used"/"Most Used" menus
titles in the panel menu. "dcop kicker Panel restart" causes Kicker to
restart with the new configuration.

[menus]
ShowMenuTitles=false

This could be a good starting point for you to give some main menu customization .

I appreciate your interesting information.
And I try to add the configurable option for hiding KMenu-Titles to ActiveHeart config dialog.

 bug?

by oshogg on: Apr 28 2004

Score 50%

I tried, for the first time. to load/save scheme in 1.2 release. I am unable to do this. No matter what I input as the schema name (say oshogg); it says me that

Save failed.
The invalid characters may have been used for the scheme name.

Any ideas why?

Osho

When I tested what you did, it was saved normally.
Possibly, did you input the space into the scheme name?

I noticed that the test in "root" user wasn't being done.
Then, when tested by root just now, the same problem as you occurred.
This problem is related to Qt's spec, and It is difficult to solve it.
I think that the problem does not occur, when you use ActiveHeart as a general user.

I am not a root user, I am a regular user.

However, I have compiled kde3.2.2 myself using konstruct and installed it in a directory in my home directory where I have all permissions.

So, I think this bug probably occurs even if one is not root but has permission to write where kde is installed.

Is this correct? If it is a QT bug, could you please please report it to trolltech?

thanks,
Osho

Thank you for including 'Disable kmenu title'. I've given some idea's on kmenu in:
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=12312
I couldn't find any other customization options for kmenu other than 'Disable kmenu title' yet.
Keep up your interesting project.

Good luck,
Zammi

I saw your mock-up.
Sad to say, the modification of not the style engine but KMenu is necessary to realize that.
However, I am thankful to you for your active suggestion actions.

 borders in taskbar

by oshogg on: May 1 2004

Score 50%

I really love this new

"Surround the taskbar buttons with dark borders"

feature.

I was wondering if you could possible provide an option to specify different colors for window buttons in the taskbar depending on whether they are active, inactive or minimized?? Even if there was a way to accentuate active window button in taskbar that would be great. (I do not like the visual appeal of the "highlight the active taskbar button with the active tabline color"). I would like to specify what the background of that button should be (like XP does)?

thanks,
Osho

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
