 9.10?

by odysseusjak on: Feb 16 2010

Score 50%

I'm using Linux Mint 8, which is based on Ubuntu 9.10. I just updated to KDE 4.4. When I updated, the daisy plasmoid was already installed because I used it in KDE 4.3.5. However, as noted by others, it wasn't working. I downloaded the latest version and tried to istall it but it was made for Lucid (10.04) and won't work with 9.10. All of that to ask if you are going to backport it to the older versions of Ubuntu?

BTW, it's a GREAT plasmoid and I used it daily.

Peace be with you.

I'm running the most recent version of Daisy on Kubuntu 9.10 + KDE 4.4 from Backports without any problems.

Just grab the Daisy source package, extract it and run the included install script as root.

This way you don't have the dependency issues of the deb build against Lucid libraries.

 Daisy 0.0.4.22 on Karmic?

by DenisSeidel on: Feb 20 2010

Score 50%

Hey,

I like the idea of this plasmoid, but it doesn't works on my system.
But I know the reason. I'm using Karmic (64-bit) with KDE SC 4.4. So I need version 0.0.4.22.
In the repository for Karmic is just 0.0.4.20 available.

Can you provide the new version for me and other Karmic-Users?

We gotta get this updated in the mandriva repos, or get a new rpm download :D

Stuck with 4.20 and have the double click problem with kde 4.4 and for some reason I'm getting errors with building stuff, trying to sort that out.

 crashes plasma with yakuake

by janet on: Apr 15 2010

Score 50%

I use KDE 4.4.2 on Kubuntu, daisy 0.0.4.22a (sidebar) and yakuake 2.9.6. When daisy is on the desktop and I unfold yakuake and after that click somewhere (on the desktop, inside yakuake) or press any key that triggers a desktop action the whole plasma desktop crashes. This happens reproducably every time - but only when daisy is on the desktop.

Want Debian Sid with spices? Get sidux at sidux.com - it simply works :)

Yes, there seems to be some problems with the taskmanager implementation in Daisy when some programs are launched. Am trying to figure out what could be wrong.
Thank you for the report.

 Doubled window

by spurwonofjp on: Apr 20 2010

Score 50%

Hi,
I want to report my little problem. I dont know exactly when the problem start, but recently i upgraded Daisy to Alpha corolla 0.0.4.22, after i got back to opensuse 11.1 from 11.2. Then i got 'failure' mouse click on most applications on Daisy dock. But any clicks from kickoff launcher are fine.
The problem is when i click icon from linear dock, the application window always comes out double, even from Yast icon, but except Personal Settings that only gives single window. Also i can not drag icons to rearrange the dock. If i hold click to drag icon, a window will come out, then when release the click, another window comes out.
Oya, another thing that also no close button when mouse over taskbar representations.

Any clue?

Thanks
[OpenSuse 11.1 KDE 4.3.5 Release 3]

For the click issue, it's probably related to the fix that was done for it to work with KDE 4.4, after some things changed with KDE. It's just a temporary "fix", right now the main focus is the rewrite, which will be available soon and hopefully all these issues with the clicking on icons will be resolved. Try to downgrade to the previous Daisy version to see if that corrects the issue.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
