Like the "My Favourite Widgets" option in the dropdown of the add widgets dialogue?

are you talking about the "quicklaunch" plasmoid?
If yes, quicklaunch let you put only apps

So probably someone should extend it to allow to put there also URLs (or maybe creating .desktop file for URL could be enough? I don't use it so I don't know...). ;-)

You can also use for example use Fancy Tasks applet (with disabled tasks and disabled animation), it accepts all URLs added by drag and drop.

because folder view shows folder's content.
I need a plasmoid which contains only the icon (not the content), and clicking over it, doplhin will be opened

You can place links to directories in Folder View.

(Sure, it might be troublesome to create a new folder for this, but it's possible. :)

It's easy. Use Nepomuk to give only wanted folders.

1. Place "Folder View" Widget to desktop.
2. Open the configuration window (tool icon)
3. Set the shown directory path as:
nepomuksearch:/tag:favorite
4. Set other wanted settings and Save settings
5. Open Dolphin
6. Go to every folder where are folders what you want.
7. Select file and tag it on the "Information" sidepanel as "favorite".

They appears to Folder View and you have only files/folders what has tag "Favorite" placed on them.

You can do same for the "places" on dolphin or open/save dialog. Just use nepomuksearch:/tag: etc. You can set folderview to filter wanted filetypes or other things. No need to shortcuts.

Here is a screenshot of this functionality.

To get the banner text hided on "Display" options, just hit there a space without other text and it is not showing anything. The name can not be empty (bad thing).

 same idea

Hey!
I had the same idea a couple of weeks ago. i also started the kde-tutorial on how to implement plasmoids.
But sadly I don't have that much time to write something like that. I think its pretty easy to code.I think all you need is the file, where your favourites are saved, then take the code of the quicklaunch plasmoid and edit it a little bit.
It shouldn't be that complex to code, I believe.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
