K3B GUI proposal

Description:

This is a mockup I made for k3b which I hope to see back in KDE4. Currently it doesn't show all the functions so I will update it soon. It has the same idea as Dolphin. It works with panels so you can add new panels like "places" to drag and drop files to the project area.

You also see a plasmoid for K3B. This can be useful if you don't want to start the app for a simple task.

Ps. The theme is not a mockup. It's Bespin by thomas12777.

 Larger screenshot

Could you submit a larger image? In general I think the current UI does the job well. Nothing really special about it but there doesn't need to be.

 Nero-like interface?

I think that K3b interface is more complete than your mockup, the GUI is more easy and it requieres less clicks to do the same actions.

I think that you can propose a second GUI like Nero Express, but not replace the main GUI.

I agree, Nero Express is the only GUI for CD burning I've ever been able to get people to use without a lot of instruction since it's a wizard. Sadly K3b and all other CD burning programs for Windows copy the regular Nero-like interface.

I like the panel on the side. I like the file manager type window in the center, and the media interface at the bottom.

It looks very slick and professional.

Lookin' good. I am guessing that you drag and drop files onto the CD, so because of that why not have the window split? the left side for the CD contents, and the right side for browsing your filesystem.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
