Submitted:  Jan 17 2006
Updated:  Jan 25 2006

Description:

DVD Cover for Kubuntu with french text.

Reminder: it is easy to change whatever you want on this DVD Cover, just using Inkscape. As the licence is CreativeCommons by-nc-sa, you just have to furnish it (if you do) under the same licence.

The bigger Konqi is furnished for better printing if desired.

Changelog:

* 25. january 2006:

Removed all remaining OSI logos (please use them on your own responsability: OSI asks for signed paper ensuring only OSI-compliant is on DVD)
Added Tux and GNU
Resizing Konqi
Moving screenshots
Updated all files to GPL

* 17. january 2006:

Added AMD64 and PPC versions
Changed licence form CC-by-nc-sa to GPL (after discussion on homepage with french-speaking guys)

LicenseGPL
(PNG (Intel x86))
(Inkscape SVGZ with images - *.tar.gz)
(Plain SVGZ with images- *.tar.gz)
(PNG (AMD64))
(PNG (PowerPC))
(Bigger Konqi (for SVG printing))

Nice work guy ! I'm a recent Kubuntu user and I find this cover simply great.

Is it possible to add amd64 and ppc version of the DVD Cover ?

I added them. But you have to know that it is easy to make it yourself. Just install ($sudo apt-get install inkscape) Inkscape and enjoy!

You can modify whatever you want, texts, images, colors, just by editing the SVGZ!

This is one of the coolest things on KDE right now.

Thanks a lot. I do appreciate congratulations a lot (really!), but I have to give special credits to original author of the Ubuntu cover, charlie763, on this topic of UbuntuForums.org: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=38345 and to YoshiBall, for traduction of the original text, on this topic on Ubuntu-fr.org: http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=181650

Since were KDE folk here, do you suppose we could change this with Karbon14 instead of Inkscape? ;-)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
