Description:

This is the Lilo Bootscreen for Debian GNU/Linux I introduced on debianplanet.org some time ago. It comes in versions for the different releases Potato, Woody, Sarge and Sid. The GIMP .xcf image is included in the bz2-archive.

I hope you'll enjoy it!

Update: This bootscreen is now included in the official Debian lilo packages for testing and unstable.
The configuration has slihtly changed in these packages, please see http://debian.newswriter.org for details.

You can use this bootscreen for free without restrictions as long as
you respect the license for the Debian Open Use Logo.

See http://www.debian.org/logos/ for details.

I realy don't know. There are patches for graphical grub menus, but i haven't tried it yet. the grub coming with debian is not graphical.

if you can get more information on how an image can be used in grub i would be interested. i personaly like grub much better than lilo.

 Doesnt work on Woody

Hi

I tried this last night on a vanilla Woody system and lilo reported a syntax error in lilo.conf. I followed the instructions in the readme exactly. Does this need a different version of lilo than Woody provides ?

Normally I would say read the readme, but the configuration of the bootscreen in the lilo.conf changed slightly :-)

In the readme I explained to instert the line

install=/boot/boot-bmp.b

into your lilo.conf. However this changed in one of the newer releases and now you have to insert the line

install=bmp

Much easier, isn't it?

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
