Description:

Hello, these are a mockup for a task bar. I know, not all of these Ideas are new. I'm not a developer, so I can't make these. But maybe someone finds these a good idea and will be realize these.

1.A group button. Don't show for every window a icon, just one for the group. A left click on the group icon, will raise, unminimize or minimize all windows of the group on the current desktop. These will be very helpful for application like gimp. A middle click will open a new window of the application (start the application) and a right click will show me a pop-up menu. With these method I have grouped window and can switch to every window with just one click. I don't like the grouped window where you need 2 click to switch to a window.

2.Only show one icon, if you have only a window of these application open. Many Application like Kontact Kaffeine or Amarok you only have one window. Why to show detail of the window?

3.Don't show application in the system tray. It's look cleaner, when the system tray have only hardware or daemon tools like bluetooth or kwifi. I know, in Kopete and Amarok you can disable the system tray icon. With an application menu (see screen-shot), when you right click on the application you don't need to see the application in the system tray. I don't know how hard it is, to realize these.

4.Merge Pager with Task-bar. After the desktop icon 1, you see the application that you have open in desktop 1. These application can have some windows in other desktop. After the desktop icon 2 you see the application that you have open on desktop 2 but not in desktop 1, and after the desktop icon 3 you see the application that you have open in desktop 3 but not in desktop 1 or 2 etc.. The pager will be optional disabled for people how works with many desktops.

5.See pictures

I hope you understand my vision, because my first language isn't English.

Grouping is already possible with Stasks/FancyTasks/and also it's default in KDE 4.2 I believe. Additionaly you might want to check this, it's very similar to your idea:

Like was said before applications are already grouped.

And I like only looking at only one box for what desktop I am in.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
